fyi, the reason techniques like this, and the malasyian guy with who can stab his finger into coconuts, works. is by self injury. you keep breaking the bones in your hand/finger and let it reheal, over and over for decades. the bone grows back thicker and stronger every time, and the end result is a bone strong enough to withstand stuff like this

@ValeRay2
@ValeRay2 2 жыл бұрын
Not painful....?
@doctorbigsmiles
@doctorbigsmiles 2 жыл бұрын
It's definitely painful, the technique is to practice until you do some damage, that requires you take a month or two to recover. Then repeat. And you practice until it hurts too much, then you rest until later or the next day. Eventually you do some damage that forces you to take a month or more to recover. But you're not simply going for maximum damage/ pain, you are trying to practice just under that threshold, until you feel strong pain. Punching wood, stone and metal. Each time you recover after some weeks, your fist is a bit more flattened, toughened and you can hit a tiny bit harder without pain. But you're always practicing until it hurts too much. It's fun, if you enjoy a little pain, passion and then progress.

I remember a scientific explanation about this, not sure about the correct terms but basically you gotta break your hand multiple times causing lots of microfractures, these microfractures will eventually heal creating more "bone" and so you get a stronger fist in this case, he's crazy. That in some cases are done in purpose. Like this training makes your fist harder but also loses its agility. So some people do it single-handedly and perform another martial art using the other hand. Like if you use knife on left hand and sword on the other, it would be less predictable than using the same weapon.

@ghostdeluxxe
@ghostdeluxxe 3 жыл бұрын
My personal favorite of the 72 Techniques of Shaolin is called the Skill of Light Body. Basically, the monks would get a large container and fill it full of water, then they would walk along the rim of the container (think like a large barrel). The trick is that they would also wear a vest and slowly add rocks or steel shot to the vest to increase their weight, while also taking out a cup of water from the container, little at a time, maybe once a month. Once they could walk along the rim and it was empty, they'd switch to a woven basket full of steel shot and repeat the process. Now here's the cool part, after finishing the basket training they would make a pathway of sand and cover it in a couple sheets of rice paper, and walk on the paper. The idea is that over time, they could walk on the paper without leaving behind any trace of a footprint, and the paper was removed as they progressed until no footprints were left behind at all. The last stage of the skill is achieved when Monk could walk on grass or snow and leave no trace, then they could remove the weighted vest. It's rumored after the vest was removed they could walk on water and leave no ripples as they moved. It should take no less than 12 years to achieve this skill, and quite honestly, it's probably the most absurd one I've ever heard of, but now that you know the steps, what will you do?

I can see that the skin on his hand sort of adapted and gave him I'm guessing as hard or even harder than rocks.

His hand has formed a thicker skin. The form of his hand reminds me of Doppo Orochi from Grappler Baki series.

Breaking the bottom glass out of a bottle with your fist is an old bar trick. You leave a little liquid in the bottle and whack the top and it creates a surprisingly intense hydraulic force on a part of the bottle that isn't strengthened for it. The rest of this stuff is intense.

I know someone who really train his fist like this guy, and i can say he is legit. His fist swollen (or you could say thick) and the skin looks refined as if he got wounded so often..
