Already engaging with iron palm training on the tree. While I’m not hitting hard against it (which is all part of the conditioning to NOT break any of the forearm or hands), it will eventually increase the muscle and bone density. So it’s worthwhile to train like this 😇

U guessed it walk away. It was tought to me with this teaching of this knowledge u must know........it is better to walk than to fight. 2 better to hurt then to damage. 3 its better to damage than to maim. 4 its better to maim than to kill. 5 its better to kill than be killed.

I have trained karate of and on for nearly 20 years and can say in competitions and in the few real combat situations I have been in I have never blocked like this. (Particularly the inner block) Any conditioning I have done (and am just getting back into it) has been to make my strikes to for instance collar bone or neck with my forearm/hammerfist/punch more harder and hit "heavy".

Do it light and at slow speeds at first. Do it a few times a week, don't do it all the time. Over period of time go heavier(harder) and faster. If you can find "jow" Chinese markets may have them, depends on the area :) hope this helps! Jow will help with healing, bruises and muscles :)

I studied ngo cho kun for a while and after conditioning we used a Chinese herbal medicine which is used to rub on the limbs you've used to condition which helped to prevent those kind of things. I would advise anyone who does conditioning to purchase something like dit da jow. If you Google it you can find it.

he clearly does have a high pain threshold because bodybuilding is quite painful especially as you get bigger. striking is a different kind of pain from squatting till you cant walk. i have done bodybuilding for years and used to do iron hand strengthening but squatting a heavy weight for like 50 reps is brutal, especially multiple sets.

My Sifu introduced me to Iron arm back in 1979' 😀. I was use to the line movement of karate. I was sparring with my Sifu and I backed him across the room ( or I thought I did ). It was all a trick, I "backed" Him across 6 feet of the room when he hopped to my left side and hit me with the iron arm ( we called it unbendable arm ), he knocked me back 6 feet across the floor and laughed about it since I wasn't hurt. I can still feel it today!

Dr John has a wonderful soothing voice. If he has to “restrain” some thug at a nightclub and give evidence in court when he has broken the guy in two, a jury would never think he could have been an aggressor or that he would have used unreasonable force in any physical confrontation. Such is the calmness and reasonableness of his voice and demeanour. Formidable fighter and the bedside manner of a doctor of medicine. A pretty good combination, eh?

Delson Lai mind over matter! The body can only do what the brain allows it to do. Wing Chun is proof size doesn't Matter, the system was designed by women for that very reason..then again if you believe size matters, than mentally your set up to fail and chances of losing are much greater

I like Dr. John, he sounds so calm while breaking your bones.. anyway - mythbusting - if you hit the tree with some rug or kind of wrap from closer distance it wont break your knuckles, but .. you can break your knuckles even from further distance if you hit the tree with full speed/power and you dont have enough wrap/rug/cover on the tree. But i really recommend this kind of conditioning, its probably the best one for me
