Chinese mom morning routine **No Makeup** Making EASY Moon Cakes 冰皮月饼

This is my morning routine with my circus, and today is Mid Autumn festival (Moon Festival) celebrating with Moon cakes.
This recipe is very easy, no baking! You can make it today!
Moon cake wrapper ingredients:
100g Glutinous rice flour
100g Rice flour
50g Wheat Starch
380ml Milk
70ml Vegetable oil
Moon cake filling ingredients:
6 eggs
150g Butter (room temp)
60g Wheat starch
120g Milk powder
100g Sugar
1. Mix milk, vegetable oil together, then add glutinous rice flour, rice flour and wheat starch. Mix well until smooth.
2. Steam the batter for 20-25 minutes , cool on the side for 5 minutes, then use fork or chopstick break the dough, put on a surface, knead the dough until smooth.
3. Make the filling. In the mixer beat the butter until fluffy, then add sugar mix again. Add eggs one by one, each one beat until total mixed then add next one.
4. Add Wheat starch, milk powder in with the eggs and butter, mix very well.
5. Double boiler steam the filling for 5 minutes, then mix well, steam gain for another 5 minutes. Then leave the lid open, mix the filling until cooked, all the liquid is gone.
6. Divide the filling and wrapper 25g each.
7. Wrap the filling in the wrapper, press in the moon cake mold.
8. Moon cakes can be eaten right away. But best to chill in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
This recipe makes 25 moon cakes, the fresh moon cakes can store in a container in the fridge up to 3 days.

The bilingual speaking thing is more like a habit to me. Despite being Chinese I speak English way more often but if I was to engage in a Cantonese conversation I would be well able to (for context I moved to Australia 6 years ago and English is obv the mainstream language so I'm more used to that compared to 6y ago

I am an ESL teacher for my side hustle. I am a history teacher for my full-time job. I love when the two collide. This last week I taught my American students the history of the The Mid-Autumn Festival and I purchased moon cakes for my family to enjoy. my favorite are red bean and I also found purple yam this year and they are yummy too. I really want to try both of your recipes. I had to laugh at the beginning with the hot water. You are the BOMB. Absolutely FABULOUS. Whitty, funny. I get headaches when I don't drink coffee but that's because we may be drinking so much caffeine. I also drink warm water with lemon all the time. And I'm not Chinese but me and my girls have rice almost everyday I have a rice cooker constantly left out on the counter, and I recently switched from white basmati rice to Brown basmati rice.
