Although I had a payment after the 26th from China this scared me enough to think forward. Thanks, as always, for the GREAT info! Fiverr works as a "middle man" but there is a 20percent fee. In addition, you get that WORDLY base of students. Bank transfer is an option to free up that PayPal issue also (great tip mentioned previously and in video). Good luck ALL!

I would use super teacher as the middle man honestly. You’re going to get way better customer service there then with fiver

I had difficulty accepting payments from my independent students in Ukraine and Gaza using PayPal. But PayPal didn't freeze my account, it was the central bank in Ukraine that wont let citizens transfer money out of the country. Agreed Paypal is something to be avoided.

I believe this is something that has to do with China blocking payments intentionally. Think about it- they can block payments a lot easier than they can block, say, zoom. Because people can use a vpn

Hey, I just paid to join the KZbin for Teachers program. I got an email within 10 minutes but the link doesn't work. Do I need to wait until Monday for this to go live? I just see a 500 server error. I really want to join this community, learn about marketing, diversify my students and whatnot. Literally marketing is my one and only weakness and once I have this figured out my life will change in a big way.

Hey good news, it went through. Really looking forward to this class. Also, I just received a payment from a student. I use stripe and the student sent the payment on 9/28. So stripe is still ok. My student lives in China.

is all this only a problem with only chinese students? Is it still ok to accept payments from students outside of china?

Yes- this is only China.

Thank you! This is great info. How about using Western Union in China to receive payments outside China? To pay via them a client doesn't need any special account. They can even pay online if they have an online account in their bank. A client would need to go to some of Western Union's online or offline offices in China (or to the bank, because banks work with them; or to the post office, since they work with WU as well) and make a payment.

​@@JillianShanahan Thank you for your reply. I'm in Europe and I've received payments for my teaching services via WU from Germany. Also, when paying, a client can make a note "for services" (they don't have to note "teaching services").
