Not sure what they were saying but he chimed in speaking Vietnamese and stated he spoke more than one language and that they should be mindful of their customers that were English speaking. He stated he had been military and had been to several countries and spoke over 25 languages. Moral of the story, never assume.

It's not that crazy anymore. There are tons of black people in China that speak fluent Chinese. Lots of students and traders from Africa. I'm Asian American and had young Black guys translate my English to Mandarin in Shanghai and my English to Japanese in Tokyo on several occasions. It looked funny for sure, but it actually made me look stupid and the young Black guys look super sophisticated and smart, which is good because they earned it. It's very hard to learn Asian languages. You can find lots of Black Americans and Black Brits working in Japan (seen them everywhere from the Apple store to McDonalds) and mostly Africans that own businesses all over China. Literally its very common to see Africans, there are neighborhoods full of African merchants in many large Chinese cities. Especially given China and Africa are working on so much development in Africa right now so the business goes back and forth. People don't give credit to Black people enough - they are about their money too and will learn the skills they need to make money in China. Also, he definitely looks mixed with Chinese.

Unfortunately they do not speak Chinese, because their grandfather did not learn bc the family wanted to assimilate. I think you are very handsome, well educated and should do well. please do not try to be anything but what you are. Honor your mother and father and be the best man you can. Not surprising… my friend’s father moved to Taiwan and lived there for 19 years… was fluent… we were in an elevator and these two women were speaking Mandarin(?)… he elbowed me then jumped in their conversation… the look on their faces was hilarious… when they exited, I asked what they were talking about and it was a tv soap opera that he watched as well… he had them shook… 🤣🤣🤣🤣

You are amazing. So happy your mum taught you her language. I’m a Jamaican native and wished I’d learn from my great grandfather who was Irish.

Man I love New York. There's no where else on earth with such incredible opportunities for cultural exchange. It's such a privilege to live here.

He too is Chinese, if you watched the video, there is where they asked him why his chinese is good and he said his mom is chinese(from Beijing to be exact). Which means You are him and he is you. It just comes naturally to him

My daughter speaks 11 languages. Within the 11, 5 of them are in sign language. She started when she was 4 yo. Since then, now 20, she has spoken fluently, reads, writes, and even sings in 4 languages. She finds that learning a new language is something fun, exciting, and can always be creative with it. She even learned Polish, one of her 11 languages, to communicate with our neighbor that lives in the building. She is also autistic 😊❤

lmao dry ass reaction with the first shop. I used to eat at that specific shop everyday when i worked in flushing. But bro, idk about you but in my personal experience its almost as if the language reaction scene in NYC has matured, specifically for Mandarin. I think they are onto us within their apps and social platforms it's not as unknown as it used to be when Xiaoma, Laoshu started. I think I was the last one to catch the wind of it. I could be wrong but even we noticed it on our last shoot , they are expecting us to be filming and it just kills the morale of the video. Nonetheless im happy to see you uploading brother !

True, i think now's the time to start conversations with madarin from the jump, instead of switching to chinese after they struggled speaking to you in english & most of their reactions now will be like"oh youre ones of those youtubers trying to get reactions out of us".. speak mandarin from the start and the conversation will feel more genuine & ur more likely to be complimented this way
@user-jk5um1om8l7 ай бұрын
@@bradxhonor9976I agree. Just launch straight into it. 😂

dude its also because native speakers don't freak out at someone who's clearly a native speaker speak their language. xiaoma and laoshu are foreigners who learned Chinese, so it gets way more of a reaction out of people compared to june who speaks Chinese natively. And the fact that he explained that he's half Chinese explains why he's so good at speaking it, so people don't react as much
