I regret that I didn't even realize that the WBC would be played here in Taichung before it was too late to get tickets, so while the games were being played just on the other side of town, I watched on TV with the rest of the baseball world. In Chinese, they say, "好感動!" which means "So moving!" Both the Taiwan team and fans really made us proud. I'm a U.S. citizen but have lived here long enough (3 decades) to be Taiwanese at heart, and I feel that's how they represented us to the world in this series -- with great heart and respect. Big props to the cheerleaders who really gave it their all to support the team and energize the crowd. The PRC does their best to ostracize us from the rest of the world, but as you can see, our spirits are still strong, and baseball is alive and well here. Big congratulations to Los Cubanos! Viva Cuba! Muy bueno! Those guys played really well and deserve to advance. I wish them well in the rest of the tournament.

I tried to watch this game man, but that ouzo horn or however you spell it was haunting my dreams and had to watch something else. I'd hear it even in commercial breaks. The highlights proved it was an awesome game though, CT will be a powerhouse for future WBC games!

I remember watching Cuba playing against Taiwan some 3 decades ago when I was a kid and so many Taiwanese stayed up all night for it due to the time difference. I love Taiwan but Cuba is so good that it always has this formidable image in my heart.

Taiwan won in WBC this time. In half century , we're not allowed to use our own flag and name, even right now. Team Taiwan didn't get the best 9 players, but we get 23 millions people behind them, fight together, fail together, and still full of spirit, to show the world our flag and remember we are team Taiwan!
