Mainland Chinese people lurking in KZbin comments are the rudest, most uncultured, and most vulgar people I have ever come across. Before KZbin become popular got better impression of the Mainland Chinese people. But KZbin comments showed that they are generally the most wicked minded people ever. They don't even have the most basic concept of courtesy and decorum

Only those that work in an environment that requires them to speak professionally, then they will strive to speak proper English. Otherwise between locals to locals they do understand each other with a mix of languages. In fact if you try to speak proper English to a common folk, he will think that you are arrogant. But if the person does speak proper English to me, I will speak proper English back to him.

I am Singaporean. Granted, my great grandfather did come from China. Even so, I was born here, I grew up here, my identity lies here, as a Singaporean, and not anywhere else. Although I do not support discrimination and bigotry (most of my friends in jc are, in fact, PRCs), I am sorry but I don't see anything wrong with specific Singaporeans having issues against specific PRCs. This is a result of inevitable differences between certain individuals, not so much about the nationality, or "hating the country of their ancestors". 因为成长环境不一样,做事的方式难免会有所不同,人与人之间也才会有产生摩擦,而类似事件发生的概率不只是局限在新加坡人与中国人之间,国籍,只不过是为了炒作而故意贴上的标签。One last thing to point out, hate, is a strong word, and as far as I know, lack of interest doesn't necessarily mean hate. It's like me saying I dislike your comment (accusations??), but I don't hate it. Thank you for your time. My apologies if I've offended you in any way.

As a Hong Konger, I believe if you ask any student or teacher in Hong Kong the same questions, or even harder, we as a Hong Konger will still definitely be able to answer at least 80% of the questions correct. 我相信如果你在香港問同一個問題 大部分香港小學生也能夠答對百分之八十的題目 更不要說是中學生了

Kevin Yeung I believe one of the reasons why these people are not able to answer that many questions correctly is because they have already left school. Of course that is no excuse for our terrible Chinese (although i must say that i expected more from our Chinese). As an adult, not many people speak or write in Chinese. In fact, even the better professions such as doctors do not use Chinese frequently enough to vividly remember every word that they have learnt. Although people in Hong Kong mainly communicate using the Chinese dialect (i forgot which please enlighten me), i believe that the main language there is Chinese, which would explain why they would get most of the questions right.

Most younger Singapore chinese people are a disgrace and are overly westernized, and most of them hate their own mother tongue , and even hate the country of their ancestors, and that is why when there is any conflicts between people from China and those of other races, you always see most of the Singapore Chinese people speaking up loudly against the Chinese people from China . Most Singapore Chinese people actually hate their own race, which is such a huge disappointment .大多数年轻的新加坡华人都是耻辱,过度西化,他们大多数都讨厌自己的母语,甚至讨厌祖先的国家,这就是为什么当中国人和其他种族的人发生冲突时 你总能看到大多数新加坡华人大声反对中国人民。 大多数新加坡华人实际上都讨厌自己的种族,这是一个巨大的失望............................................0000000000000

@@stevej1235 english is a rather easy language to learn, first of all, without all the grammar and vocab stuff, the basic structure which is abc is already easy, for chinese you dont have a base like abc whr you can piece the sound out, every word has different strokes, same words having different meaning and different sound, for english, as long as you can piece the abc you can read out most words even if you dont understand them(korean hangul too), which makes searching for their meaning online easier, whereas for chinese, if you saw the word someone and tried to search for it in your phone u cant search it with the pin yin because you dont know hoe it sounds like, if you wrote it into your phone you could get the strokes wrong too, english IS easier than alot of languages,

shinkuevangeline stop giving those excuse for poor mandarin, actually english is harder for native chinese speaker too, in english, every object will has it's specific word, while in mandarin you can guess the phrase or word meaning even its you first time seeing it, example like computer is a totally unique word, while in mandarin is 电脑, which literally mean electric+brain, this will make english harder and require more work to memorize it but mandarin's word will easily stick in your mind, beside of that, i had met lot of europeans which mandarin skill are much much better than singapore chinese, so its just you attitude want to learn or not

I can understand that Chinese Singaporeans just converse patches of Chinese in their dailylives. They could have basic spoken communications. That's it. Their motive is not strong, while some see it as a practical tool for business. Regretably, the participants in the clip sometimes cannot speak proper English (with some grammatical errors) too.

文字这东西,不用一直分优劣。。。 就如Old English, Middle English, 和现在的Modern English一样,中华文字语言也有改变。。。 就如我根本听与读不懂 Old English 一样。 与其分优劣,不如分新旧就好。 I am a Singaporean. Mandarin or whatever Mother Tongue lessons for us took up just like 2 periods of classes per day, sometimes 1 period, while I was in primary and secondary. I stopped taking it in poly and university, though I still speaks and sometimes write it. 而且,你觉得学校换去繁体的话,会使情况更好还是更糟? 繁简之争,无需介怀。。。
