Chinese are the most like the Elves in Tolkien if Europeans had met them during Xia, Han, Song, and Tang dynasties. Unfortunately Europeans met Chinese during their poverty era of 1600s-2000s lol, and so thought we were always dirty and inferior to today. Well that is changing, in recent trends Chinese youth are reclaiming their lost heritage

English Translation: “The Icy Wheel (of the moon) has begun to rise over the island, I see the jade rabbit, and the jade rabbit has risen early in the east! That icy wheel is leaving the island, and making everything outdoors bright! The Moon is so bright in the sky! It seems as if Chang E (the moon goddess) has left her palace on the moon...I am like Chang E, who's left her palace on the moon! It seems that she has descended to the earth, her jade bridge leaning upon branches of orchids. The Mandarin ducks come, playing in the water, the golden color of the koy fish rippling the surface. Rippling the surface...The geese, up in the sky, the geese flying, the geese flying together soaring up...I hear the sound falling among the shade of the flowers. Surely this scenery makes anyone want to drink! And go unfeelingly to the hundred flower pagoda. (speaking) This gorgeous day makes it hard to be by myself, so I shall happily enjoy myself with wine for a long while. The Six palaces have three thousand occupants...Three thousand concubines, yet only one is Favored (herself, she's bragging)."
