It does look funky when they stand up, but any 4-legged animal will look weird standing on 2 feet walking around. Tbh most bears look like a man in a bear suit, the only reason you don't always notice it at first is because a lot of bears are simply too huge or too fluffy to immediately make the comparison. I read a story for English class when I was in high school that was told from the perspective of a young girl, and her dad hunted brown and black bears for their fur. She said she hated seeing the bears skinned because once the thick fur was removed they looked too much like people.

I have been to the great wall where these bears are 'brought' in so that tourists can throw them apples, and yes they look odd. They can catch an apple tossed 20' away while balancing on a rail 25' in the air.

That's a real bear, but I did have to replay and slow it down a few times to make certain because it really did look like China had replaced the bear with a Furry. 😆 However, when the bear sits down, the way its neck falls forward and down, for one, would be hard for a person in a costume to replicate. What I was watching mostly, however, was the mouth, which did not change in that clip, so I still questioned it. However, I slowed down the clip where the bear tries to catch food, and the mouth does open and close in a very real way. It does throw you to see it standing 'cause his natural britches are quite saggy. 😂

They weren't feeding them enough. One of the guys who transported them to the zoo from another zoo came back with a different animal transport, popped over to the bear section to check on the bears, and found the bears looking like this. He posted the video on social media asking for help because the bears were way skinnier than when he had brought them to the zoo, he was concerned about their wellbeing, and also didn't want to leave the additional animals he had just brought with him with the zoo because of the condition he found the bears to be in. The situation was not actually funny at all. But authorities did end up intervening, and the bears ended up getting taken better care of and gaining back the weight they lost. But then another person reposted the video, omitting the original comments about animal abuse and making a viral joke of it. Zoos in China do tend to keep animals on the trim side because of the weather, and these bears do tend to carry less weight then grizzlies or polar bears, but even accounting for these things these bears were definitely skinnier than they should have been.

I’ve been to China and saw the sun bear at a zoo park that looked like Jurassic park and you sit in a tram and you can feed live chickens to tigers, lions, cheetahs, etc. You can also feed the giraffes with food through the windows if you buy the food. And you can buy fruit or meal worms for the monkeys and sun bears. A very interesting experience for sure. No American would think this is humane but it is what it is and that’s how they do it. It was somewhere in the southern part of China near Shanghai. Oh, and when you get there, you get attacked by many peddlers trying to get you to buy useless items and surround you and your car. They’re very aggressive and we had to shoo them away.

I once saw one of these sun bears at a zoo bent foreword massaging his man part with his mouth while sitting right in front of a crowd of people facing towards them. The explanations parents were giving their kids about what the bear was doing while trying hard not to laugh but failing was funny as hell.
