You are doing the right thing. You translate first and then you create a proxy from the translated files. Agreed that Adobe could make a process improvement here.

How do i ingest footage from a professional camera. avid knows its a C300 and reads out its metadata from the sd card. Premiere just copies all files into my project. I dont want that, i want it like Avid does it. How do i do that

Great. If I ever get a camera that shoots anything but XAVC 4-2-0 I will have to do proxies and transcode. When I upload to Vimeo I use ProRes. Which ProRes is the best flavor?

If you do not have a Vimeo Plus or Pro account, then ProRes files will be too large (depending on the length of your video) to upload, since regular accounts are limited to 500 MB. I would recommend always using ProRes 422 (not LT or Proxy) since LT or Proxy actually duplicates pixels and they really aren't HD or 4K. But then you have the enormous wait time of uploading. Otherwise, H.264 is a perfectly normal uploading format to Vimeo as long as you keep the 1080 upload over 50 Mbps and 4K over 100 Mbps.

sir i was creating proxies on my laptop , so i don't know what preset i should select for creating proxy video, i selected randomly i.e. 1024*540 H264 so the media encoder showed a error , please help me

When I click the Ingest settings option. A Notification pops up- Adobe Media Encoder is not installed. However i have installed it properly with crack version. How Can I fix this problem?

My guess is that you need to make sure both versions (of Premiere and Media Encoder) are completely up to date. If that fails, you can try a clean install. Uninstall both Premiere and Media Encoder, choosing the options to clear ALL preferences. Then reinstall.

First sorry because I am french and I am not sure to understand everything. I would like to know what is the difference between transcodage and creation of proxies ? What is the best ?

Ce sont 2 process différents. Transcoding permet de passer d'un codec à un autre. Le proxy permet d'obtenir un fichier léger afin de monter plus facilement. Par ex j'ai un original en Prores 422 en 18 i/s, je vais le transcoder en 24 i/s, puis je ferais un proxy de mon fichier 24 i/s pour faciliter mon montage. Lors de l'exportation Premiere enverra le fichier transcodé à Media encoder et là encore je pourrais si je le veux choisir un autre codec d'export comme le H265 pour alléger mon fichier vidéo terminé.
