Yes, their fur can't come in contact with water. Dust baths also removes oil and dirt from their fur ^^

Whay kind of dust did you use?, it looks so thin and grey. The sand I use is different.

You should only use chinchilla dusting powder or volcanic pumice, not sand.

DSlite11 This does get them clean, actually. Chinchilla fur is infamously soft and fine, and getting it wet opens the door for infection and fungus growth. Dust baths help them get clean by having the dust absorb any unnatural moisture and from their fur.
