when i was a cast member we were taught to give guests the "trivia" that chip the chipmunk and chip the teacup are the only two disney characters that share a name. but at some point i realized that is...demonstrably untrue. just off the top of my head there's pete the cat and pete with the dragon.

have you noticed that when chip is off somewhere else, Dale comes out of his shell? see this in the restaurant meet and greet with Brian Hull, "I scared Chip." basically Brian weaves his voice acting magic and talks to Chip in Chip's own voice, scaring the chipmunk so much that he runs away and hides. Dale comes up to Brian and basically gets about five minutes solid with Brian, a personal audience with the great voice actor while Chip is hiding from him. it's so funny. Chip's reaction to Brian is wonderful too, once he's come out of hiding that is.

These costume evolutions are always so fascinating, and I appreciate that Chip and Dale’s early costumes weren’t pure nightmare fuel like some of the other characters’ early costumes. I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for these characters though. I think they might have been my first character meet and greet when I was a toddler! My parents have a picture of me with them somewhere in Frontierland (I think???) from 1993 and I’m wearing a Barney sweatshirt haha.

My twin sister and I called ourselves Chip and Dale since we were kids because we really liked a Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers and once our older brother tried to call him and his wife Chip and Dale and my sister and I immediately argued with them that they work better as Donald and Daisy. Anyway, anytime we go to the Parks and see them or when we see Chip and Dale merch, we get really excited.

What helped me finally remember who’s who is that Dale’s nose is more like a clown nose, and he’s the goofier one. It works better in Rescue Rangers where Chip is the straight man way more

yes, unless there's audio description for blind people, it's gonna be really hard for us to tell which chipmunk is which. their voices are so similar. at least with the sped up versions from CDRR you could tell who was Chip and who was Dale.

3 things. Dale is the one looking cross-eyed in the ice capades. The opening day costumes didn't just differentiate through their noses. They also have the 2 different sets of eyes. (mimicking the ice capades) And the 2 you said were exactly the same, they as well have 2 different sets of eyes. (one looking forward, one looking up and to the side.)

I just memorized as a child that Dale has a red nose and wears a Hawaiian shirt. I found the reboot thing on Disney plus the other day and I was scared. 3D Dale is just wrong. It looks bad.
