I think this is my all-time favorite. The porch is stunning. The only thing I would probably have kept a little bit more of would have been that nice wood in the master bedroom. I see why they needed to remove some of it because it was too dark, but I wouldn't have taken it all out.

I hate how they never try to salvage and reuse any of the materials or cabinets just so Chip can have his demoday and smash stuff

That makes my heart hurt, it's so wasteful. I know they have every "right" to update their house, but when you think of the lack of resources worldwide, it just doesn't make sense for the old stuff to go to the dump. When we lived in Mexico we bought pallets to make stuff. We also bought wood to make counters and a bed frame. Ended up taking apart that bed frame to make a desk. We couldn't afford to buy furniture and they don't have much of a used/thrift store market. I wish there was a way to share our "waste" . I know here in San Diego, and I imagine other US border cities, there are Mexicans who load their trucks with the stuff people give away for free. A guy just came and got an old twin bed frame we were going to trash because it was in such bad shape, but he packed it in his truck and took it to Tijuana.

This house isn’t a fixer-upper, it’s a tearer-downer. That addition is weird, and after the reno it still looks weird. Plus, what were they thinking using a dark exterior color in a hot climate like Texas? Ultimately it is about the homeowners, so I’m glad they’re happy, but this house has “no” written all over it.

They will regret having a doggy shower if the heck dog has long hair it's going to clog up the drains. It will cause a very big buildup in pipes below. I have experienced that no wonder there are places to take your dog to clean. Bad idea
