A formidable Rachel with a chopping knife! I have never tried this method. Definitely something to think about when you can't get your hands on the correct variety. Certainly the preparation didn't take long and all you need is patience to wait for the results. Very interesting.

Hi Fernanda and thank you for watching. This video was made last winter so it's not a 'new look' for me, more like and 'old look' 😂 I had put the video aside, planning to add to it when the bulbs made bulbils but, well, you know what happened. Thanks for reading to the end and have a nice evening 😊

I feel like the warmth part may be unnecessary. I have had old onions propagate right in the refridgerator. Feels like you could avoid the mold and just opt for a longer process in a much colder environment.

I’m sorry they rotted…. I was hoping you would get 10 extra plants off those 2 bulbs. Have you tried cutting the bulbs and just planting out in the garden? I’m in zone 8b. I was just curious since I divide rhizomes this way; however I realize these are bulbs. Nature surprises me all the time😊

The bulb needs to be dormant for you to do this. If it has leaves it's not dormant.

I like those flowers in the background in the intro, are they datura? I never knew that you could propagate bulbs in this way. I wonder why the alliums rotted, they didn't seem to have any brown inside them unlike the hyacinth?
@GardeningatDouentza3 жыл бұрын
Good morning. The greenhouse flowers are Brugmansia sanguinea. The allium rotted because it was in the same bag as the hyacinth, unfortunately. There was nothing visibly wrong with it. The hyacinth was really bad luck - looked fine on the outside when I selected it from my bag of 💯 and all the others were good because they flowered the next spring! Have a great Sunday
@faunalife29063 жыл бұрын
@@GardeningatDouentza Well I was wrong but at least quite close with the flowers! Datura and brugmansia are closely related apparently. Thats unfortunate about those alliums and hyacinths.
