My local theater started doing these things called “Mystery Movie Mondays”. For only $5, you get to see a super secret upcoming movie no one has seen, and it is awesome.
Found my seat, took out my illegal snacks, only to be treated with the title “Boy Kills Woooorrrllllddd”
So as the title of this video suggests, I’m going to be breaking down the story, explained the ending, make sense of any teased sequels or spin-offs, along with my reaction and review of this chaotic, video gamey, bloody revenge trip, that see’s Pennywise gun punching Temu’s Captain Crunch. Like, Subscribe, annnddddd enjoy!
So before throwing a single roundhouse kick or nut punch, Boy Kills Words establishes EVERYTHING up front. It’s a near future dystopian civilization, run by a totalitarian dictatorship, ehhhh less tiny mustaches, and more of a Bravo dysfunctional reality show family angle, as we’re introduced to the Van Der Koy’s, specifically Hilda, the head honcho of the human suffering. Honestly Vander Pump Rules plus murder had to have been the pitch. Anyway to keep the miscreants in order, Hilda has created THE CULLING A Running Man-esque sacrificial, live television event for her enemies, sponsored by children’s cereal companies, something that is probably closer than we all want to believe.
Enter Player One, who we only know as “The Boy”. Through quick clips of a flashback montage, its established The Boy and his sister, best friends, fun little pals, once lived under the rule of the Van Der Koy’s, but their parents, specifically mother, quote “defiled” their rule, therefore resulting in The Boy’s family being *BANG BANG.. You’re dead* Only he survived, but was left deaf and mute, tossed into the jungles, where someone’s mom was probably researching spiders right before she died, only to slowly die or fend for himself.
Lucky for him, it’s an ole’ Mr. Miyagi and Daniel Son situation, as The Boy is trained and molded into a one man killing machine by a mysterious local shaman, with the belief that the Van Der Koy’s bring nothing but death and destruction, and The Boy is his and the city’s only hope to bring them dooowwwwnnn! Ohh by the way, his inner monologue is Harry Jon Benjamin’s voice, so basically Bob is here to spew plot exposition.

IMBD says this came out in 2023 and the first time I'd ever even HEARD of it was like 2 weeks ago lmfao. Great film, the gimmick of it was super entertaining throughout and some of the action scenes were *ridiculous*.

Because they didn’t like the type of rulers and the society that their mother and family were making. That’s why they give the five fingers to the statue of their mom when their kids because they in fact didn’t like her because she was cruel and sadistic and crazy. It seemed kind of confusing, but not necessarily when you really think about it and not gonna lie I called it right when I first saw the chick that it might be his sister somehow and that she wasn’t dead. The shaman definitely caught me alittle off guard but as the movie went on, I started suspecting something was off

It's simple to explain. Boy and sister where pawns in the game life. His mother or the Shaman. Doesn't matter, both just wanted to use them as tools to kill. The only way to be free of that. To shape their way. Like the plan they made as children. Was to kill both. It's not about the greater good of society. Nothing to do with killing off bad leaders. It was about breaking free. Being able to make their own path.

@@VictoriaTraducciones The Shaman didn’t “need” to be put down, at least in an objectivist sense compared to Hilda. If he had simply walked away instead of doubling down on his own bloodlust by trying to kill June 27 when she had no hand in the death of his family, then they could have let bygones be bygones. But Boy couldn’t choose him over his own sister, especially when he feels that she has a chance at rehabilitation, even though both the Shaman and June 27 were damaged monsters in their own ways. The Shaman was too consumed by vengeance to see straight, but he could have walked away with his life if he simply had enough sense to let it go.

I'm really confused about this movie because if he was brain washed then why would him and his sister flip off their mom so that was probably part of the brain washing yet his sister remembered it to also why kill the mom ( other of course that she was a murderer and monster) clearly the sister didn't mind she killed for her and she genuinely looked like she loved them why sentence him to death and would the sister kill her

The brainwashing only affected his memories of who his mother was and how his sister died. But his memories with his sister were real. They always hated their mother growing up. His sister also hated their entire family, she literally admits it at the end. She only killed for them because she was raised into it and saw no other life beyond her role in the family. She killed their mother because her brother was the only person left that she cared about.

@@davidandrews5262 The film shows that they own the press, the aunt in the red suit is literally the one running media propaganda for the family. They also own merchandising all the way down to cereal mascots, which is why some citizens were brainwashed into supporting the Culling. They literally showed Hilda forcing her own son into murdering the Shaman’s family. I don’t know how much more do you need to figure out that Hilda was an evil ruler.

You seem to be forgetting that she’s also his long lost sister, and at the end, she killed her own mother to save him. June 27 may not have been a good person, but she was ride or die for her brother. In his point of view, she was still family to him and deserved a chance at rehabilitation after what they went through together. There was no way that he was going to let her die.

My thought in ending It kind unknown what happened rest soldiers they maybe got killed by boy and june without their leadership they still Dissolve and because some rebels overthrown their place they wont cause harm innocent life they maybe imprisonment or got killed these soldiers have no where to go.
