Keep the CHIPS episodes coming, like the first installment, the filming locations almost took a backseat to the actual stupidity of the episode itself. I think the deplorable use of the stunt doubles actually topped the mannequin in the first installment. Good work!

This is great stuff and I really think you’re onto something here. You’re not only visiting the locations, but you’re also recapping the flow of the episode while interjecting humor. I think it’s really creative and entertaining at the same time. Nice drone coverage btw.

Weird how I came across this episode. Just a week or so ago, I was watching this episode: I bought the DVD box set of CHiP's, and watched this very episode. Many years ago, I worked in L.A., briefly, for six months, and, whenever I could, just drove around town, checking out the local landmarks that I've previously seen on TV as a kid. This is why I love California so much, just being there, took me back in time, to my younger years.

That was just so nicely done. The re-enactments with the family: excellent. It works because you guys know you are being corny and just run with it. Well researched, well edited, well written, well executed. Kurt seems to be operating at a professional level now.

I loved CHiPs as a kid and still do. Nowadays, if I see it, I like to see how much has changed since the early '80s. It's hard to sometimes nail down exactly where the scenes were filmed, as the production went from Santa Monica to Sherman Oaks to Pacific Palisades and back, like in this episode. I could totally identify the 210 freeway, which was being worked on during the time the show was on the air, and often used for the chase scenes. Another piece of nostalgia was that my mom had a yellow Ford Granada, but it was a two door model.

Nice work. For all its endearing cheesiness looking back, CHiPs really provides a nice documented time capsules of the times. Fun to see the changes and not changes. The Datsun B210 was huge, Station Wagons before minivans, trucks before SUVs all with their own style. While in the modern cutbacks the cars look the same, just in black or white

Many thanks from England! They have just started re-running CHiPS on tv here after an absence of many years. Saw this episode the other day so great to see the locations now and they haven't lost their appeal to someone who grew up in the 70's & 80's dreaming of that sun and heat as England is typically grey and cold! Still at least we do have surf here in Cornwall so that's one similarity!

That Dodge dealer across the street from Skatercross was the first time I saw a Viper in person. Years prior to that, I recall the last couple years of Skatercross, but it had already closed when we moved to Northridge in 1979. I regretted never sneaking in and skating it before it was razed. My parents still live in the same house (the area is now called Porter Ranch), coincidentally right near where another scene from CHiPs was filmed at the intersection of Tampa and Chatsworth (the episode involving an alarm company and the scene was the mayor's limo was stolen and recovered at Chatsworth and Tampa). I saw that one filmed (circa 1983-ish). Not too far from ANOTHER scene near the intersection of Devonshire near Reseda where another scene was filmed, but I believe it was in '77 or '78 and before we moved nearby. That was the scene at the store where the young man bought a BB gun before he caused a major car accident and where he went back to try to get a refund on the BB gun.

That was *excellent*. So well researched, scripted, edited. Ha ha, that ending is very cool 🙂 Great to see the places today that filled our Saturday afternoon tv watching 40 years ago. I guess these were filmed on 16mm. Even that vs video today, I guess the "air" looks different maybe because of the smog back then that we would read about ? This is one of my favourite channels. Greetings from Prague, CZ

I love film locations, I have a bad habit of looking at then and now with google images and trying to track locations. Some things are fairly easy growing up around LA, some harder. So I just finished your 2nd video and you have yet to mention how much better the air quality is these days. Just finished a rewatch of Quincy and boy you watch these old shows and I remember the smog alerts where we couldn't go out for lunch or recess. When I look at the then and now photos of shows the air quality is a massive improvement. I go for walks daily and I usually am surprised at how blue the sky is. I don't remember a blue sky in the 70s/80s. Oh and that CHP station, late 80s I use to go to an acid house at a place called The Casa (Now Club Vertigo) which is right next to the station along with the clubs parking lot, we use to climb one of the buildings overlooking the station and drink before heading in. Good times!

Dude! CHiP’s is still one of my favourite programs to watch. It’s a perfect time capsule of that time period. For some reason I always liked the days when it rained in LA. It just reminds me of a perfect time with friends and all that. There is a CHiP’s episode where Ponch and Jon have to use a squad car because of the rain. It’s the plot about a rolling casino. I love that particular episode because of the rain. Thank you for all the work you put in getting to these locations. Peace.
