I think it was the constant realism that attracted me to this show...

70s had the best writers guild. No animation or trick photography ever. Except for the car driving on its side as seen here. The music was the best. Full orchestra in mono.

I noticed that in most of the shots, the MC7's roof dip was opaque while in others, especially at 1:38, the roof dip was covered. It could well be that two MC7s were used in this scene. If so, their not being completely identical was a common error in TV production of the time. Of course it could also be that the window in question was somehow destroyed during a take and they found it cheaper simply to cover the window rather than replace it.

They always used MC7 buses in moves as they were the largest and strongest of any MCI series next to the defunct MC6 prototype. Basically it has the Chassis of leftover GMC Scenic Cruisers

CHiPs was one of the few hit series NBC had at the time, in which NBC was the third-rated network that didn't have any prospects.
@jjaa61572 жыл бұрын
I think a lot changed in the '80's when Miami Vice, the Golden Girls, Cheers, Wings, The Cosby Show, Night Court, St. Elsewhere and Hill Street Blues hit the airwaves. As much as I loved CHiPs, it would have never survived against shows like those because the writing was so top-notch. All those Emmys are a prime example of that. It really flopped when Wilcox left. I refuse to watch Season Six because of that.

where's this freeway at where you can go 10 mph and still get into a nasty wreck. 680
@MrJuvefrank4 жыл бұрын
I think that was the 605 freeway. It's an estimated twenty miles east of Los Angeles,California. I used to love that freeway, but now I won't use it aynmore because it's traffic moves at a crawl. 1500 people leave Mexico every day to move to California and the government blindsides itself to the fact that we need more freeways.
