Whether you have suffered an injury, could use some pain relief or feel out of alignment, you may be in need of a chiropractic adjustment. A lifelong athlete, Kelley has had a few sports injuries over the years and finds himself in need of a hip adjustment, back adjustment or even ankle chiropractic. He paid a visit to Dr. Kristen Lemke, D.C. at Grand Avenue Chiropractic and Acupuncture where he had Dr. Lemke focus on his hip and getting his back in alignment.
Dr. Kristen Lemke is a 2009 Cum Laude Graduate of Northwestern Health Sciences University. Prior to enrolling in Chiropractic College, she attended Wartburg College where she received a Bachelors degree in Biology and Spanish.
She has gained valuable experience volunteering her time and chiropractic skills to underprivileged communities in Costa Rica, to the Pillsbury House Integrated Health Clinic in South Minneapolis, and high school athletes at St. Agnes High School in St. Paul.
In her free time, Dr. Kristen enjoys spending time playing recreational soccer, biking, practicing yoga and enjoying the outdoors. She is also in her third season as a triathlete and recently second full Ironman in Madison in September 2014. Dr. Kristen’s extensive background in sports has provided her with knowledgeable insight into working with athletes, from weekend warriors to professional athletes. She will be taking courses in Active Relese Therapy (ART) starting in the fall of 2014.
Dr. Kristen’s mission is to help educate all of her patients to understand the definition of health, “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease of infirmity” (World Health Organization-1948). She creates health by treating the individual person and not the illness. By only treating the symptoms, the body many temporarily feel better, but the cause has not been addressed!
This video can also fall under the category of ASMR. ASMR, or autonomous sensory meridian response, is a phenomenon that uses tingle triggers to initiate a tingling sensation that can be described as brain tingles, head tingles, spine tingle, brain massage and even brain orgasm or head orgasm. There are many types of intentional ASMR including, but not limited to, soft spoken ASMR, whisper ASMR, gentile whisper ASMR, role playing ASMR. Unintentional ASMR is also popular, with categories like medical ASMR, chiropractic ASMR, massage ASMR, salon ASMR, shave ASMR, head massage ASMR, clinical ASMR, scalp massage ASMR, painting ASMR, cooking ASMR, eye exam ASMR, and instructional video ASMR.

Unfortunately, you are going to have to ask a chiropractor, physical therapist or doctor on this one. We are not medical professionals here and can't give this kind of advice. Maybe ask one of your local friends if they know of anyone good - a friend is always a good place to start. Good luck!

Do you subjectively evaluate "tightness" and adjust or do you have a more objective way of evaluation also? How did you know the left side was "a little tight" if you did not test to see if that part was actually tight before doing your adjustment (view reference at 12:05).

What could the MD do when someone goes to them with a neck pain? Not Much! They prescribe anti-inflammatory meds or NSAIDS, which inhibit prostaglandins ( The bodies natural vasodilators) and may cause too much vasoconstriction or intestinal bleeding. Chiropractors have very specific training for specific set of conditions. Just like how MDs can't really do much for someone with plantar fasciitis, chiropractors can't do much for someone with Gonorrhea, which requires antibiotics. I use to have migraines and saw MDs for many years, they changed my meds every few months because my body would get use to it. I saw a chiropractor and she healed me for life. I haven't taken any medications for few years now. Just like there are many shitty MDs out there, there are many shitty Chiros out there as well. Treating a patient doesn't have much to do with your degree, but the kind of a " healer" you are. If you want to learn, there is the internet and public library and pubmed! The doctor is just a title, and if you are a chiropractor, you don't care for the title much. The healer who cares for her patients, is a constant learner and an investigator! He/ She is much more likely to treat her patients correctly than a careless MD who became a doctor to make money and hates his/ her job or vice versa. If you have some kind of musculoskeletal issues, it is always best to start with a conservative care. For the person who said chiros can hurt someone with disc herniation, you should know that disc problems have very specific set of presentation, and there are many orthopedic tests that can be indicative of such conditons. In that case, the doctor will have to take an XRAY. In many cases, disc herniation can be treated by a chiropractor. There are many forms of conservative treatments a chiropractic doctor can use to help her patients, adjustment is only one tool. I encourage those of you who are seeking a conservative care to see a chiropractor, but choose them wisely. Most people who got a surgery because of their back pain, did not have their back issues resolved after the surgery. There are many studies which confirm that chiropractic combined with medical care or physical therapy has the best outlook for the patient who suffers from a low back pain.

KravDr ok so C2-C7, that's a wide range... how do you target C4 for example? or is it just a general motion that will hit it all and fix anything out of place?

+lolzforthewinzor actually she is correct. Gravity is acting on the body downwards, so the muscles apply a reaction force upwards to compensate. The wording is poor but she is basically correct.
