Haldir Guide - Viable with Eagles?

I would highly recommend people to not build Haldir with Beornings or Eagles, the reason is that they're not cost-effective. Building Haldir as a glass-cannon with mass stacks of archers and a solid frontline (dwarves or cataphracts) gets you more worth, especially because of the stun immunity combined with the extra range damage + chance for an extra attack.

I have found that Haldir is a great utility commander when using beasts. When pushing enemy positions you can quickly take tiles within seconds and then sending your main armies to hit actual forts and saving stamina

If anyone is seeing this video now, there's a player in my season that has a RIDICULOUSLY strong Haldir in the late game using about 85 Beornings/Eagles, 1400 Marchwardens, and the rest the ranged cavalry that is anti large unit. Obviously you need a ton of resources, but it's basically unstoppable.

Love the vids Chris. Can I request something. I am an Arnor faction. I really really believe a buffed haldir for ranged units + rangers of the north could be a broken combo on anything not sieged. Can you try that and see if it is video worthy? I am avoiding the beast build but can’t wait to partner him with rangers of the north

I just want to point out that you have made it clear you prefer combat power over anything....so as such, you should add beornings to that march split 50/50. Your heal heals both of them each round among other applicable talents. Also, armed escort tree is the better one of the two compared to the one above it. Lastly, you are fighting the elves, which is a direct counter to eagles as their tier 4 unit is ranged. You would do much better using the eagles against say gondor.

Where i found his skill Foresight quite useful, was against oathbreakers. As you know, oathbreakers avoid all physical damage, but this skill makes it that all your units have (at max) a 70% chance to ignore the enemies avoidance, so you can hit the oathbreakers as if they were regular units. It's only for the first 4 rounds tho, so thats kind of a bummer.

Hey Chisgule, for once I have to disagree with you (even if the video is great as always). My opinion might have some bias (or a lot) because I'm playing as the elves meaning that I have really strong T4 ranged units, but the "beast build" with Haldir it's nothing too speical. BUT, if you go with his all-in range build he is OP (even deadlier in PVP). "Guide" lvl 15 will give you +45% physical damage on the first two rounds (and stun immunity which I personally think is huge even if situational) plus "Galadhrim" lvl 15 will give you 18% more physical damage to range units (modified by speed) plus if you maxed out "Forest Agility" all your range units will have a 20% chance of performing two attack per round. Everyone can do the math themselves and understand but, with the amount of damage that your ranged units will be outputting (even without ranged T4's: Bow knights, sentinels and even sharpshooters will do the job) you will not be needing neither sustain or healing just a good tank unit as Dwarven guardians or cataphracs, you will be easily wrecking everyone even too fast.

But you can't max Guide, then Silvan elf and Galadhrim though. I guess you can't afford for the double attack as a Haldir archers build.

@@victorpey9680 Well obviously it depends both on the commander lvl and the respect lvl you have him. I have Haldir at lvl 47 respect 5 and I do have maxed out "Guide", "Silvan Elf", "Forest Agility" and "Galadhrim" with even 1 point in "Marchwarden of Lorien" (for the avoidance of damage) and 1 point on "Armed Escort" (for little damage and healing). So I have a total of 54 ability points to spend and I could get 3 more if I took him to lvl 50 and potentially more with the respect lvl.
