I think it’s amazing you are sharing your story’s with the internet even though you know you might get negative comments! I’m on a self worth journey to! I was physically abused, sexually manipulated, mentally abused, controlled, and all sorts of other awful things a year ago when I was a junior/senior in high school. I have Asperger Syndrome which is a social disability, I have been bullied and taken advantage of all my life, and I’m still recovering from the abuse and trying to find self worth. I hope this comment helps someone know that they aren’t alone.

Hey Lauren! You were honest in this video so I'm just going to be honest back with you... I'm on Patreon and just last night happened to watch one of your Things We Don't Talk About episodes on identity. I won't go into a lot of detail here since I think you keep your Patreon content intentionally private, but after listening to you talk here in this video, it sounds to me like what you are wrestling with is an identity issue. It sounds like you intellectually know your value and worth as God sees you but it's hard to believe it because how you feel about yourself doesn't line up with what you know to be true. Do you have Christian friends you can go to when you are feeling down who you can talk to and who will listen to you and pray with you and ask you questions from a **Biblical perspective** to try and get to the root of things? There's a lot of secular advice out there that sounds helpful or sounds comforting at first glance, but if it's ultimately not pointing you back to Jesus and your worth and value being in your identity as a child of God, then it's not going to be a stable or lasting foundation to build your life on. You're never going to be perfect. I'm never going to be perfect. But when God looks at you, He doesn't see Lauren with lots of flaws, He sees Jesus's sacrifice on the cross and His blood washing you clean. No amount of self love or self forgiveness can make us feel better in any lasting way because we weren't designed for that. We know how valuable something is by how much we have to pay for it. A very valuable car might cost $1 million. You were bought and redeemed by the blood of Christ, which has infinite value. THAT'S HOW VALUABLE YOU ARE!❤ You are not an object. Your identity is in Jesus on your good days and on your bad days. Rest in that and never forget it! Anyways, this is already really long, but like I said, I'm on Patreon with this same screen name, so please reach out on there if you ever need someone to listen and pray with you and remind you of the Truth according to God and His Word❤❤❤

Wow, it's so weird, like the past week or so I've been feeling pretty much the exact same way. Like, i'm not good enough for God, í'm failing ALL the time, not a good person, etc. I was just really DOWN on myself - so I finally prayed, and was just telling God how I was actually feeling. And was kind of just questioning the cross, and if it was actually possible that ALL I had to do to be a Christian (or go to heaven) was believe in Jesus, love, and serve Him. I didn't think that was even possible, I thought I had to be perfect and DO enough good stuff for Him and then that'd be enough. So I felt awful, 'cause I'd been failing Him SO much recently, and there was no way God would keep giving me chances. And right when i was going on and on to Him about my failures and how I couldn't do it and wasn't good enough, He revealed to me that THAT was what the cross was for. It was SO simple and I was like, blown away. It was a crazy moment of realization of just how MUCH God loves me (and you). It was SO crazy to me that in spite of how sinful and broken i am (and we all are as people), God STILL loved us so much He sent Jesus to DIE so that I/we could be saved!! SO yeah, idk i'm still trying to wrap my head around it lol, but i guess i'd just say, if you're still unsure about how to love yourself just ask God to reveal HIS love for you, and who you are to HIM. I don't know if it's so much about you loving yourself. I think it's more seeing yourself as how God sees you. 'Cause when you see how MUCH God loves you, i think that kind of changes everything. Idk, this was long and i feel like some of it might not have made sense lol, but yeah 😂 i just thought there might've been a reason that I was going through like the same thought process/thing as you, and i was supposed to say something about what God revealed to me.🏻‍🤷🏻‍♀️ idk! anywho, God bless, I hope you have an awesome day. 😊
