Just curious why your brother didn't take the dog to his own vet. It sounds like, from your story, he didn't trust the facility he adopted the dog from.

Heartbreaking story - Elinor had learned during the short time she spent with your brother that she could trust him. What a beautiful human, your brother is! My 21-one-year old daughter has always loved animals, loves them more than people, and she has opened my eyes in so many ways regarding animals, so stories like this break my heart. So sorry to hear about your brother's experience. What really aggravates me about this story is I looked into adopting a rescue for about two years. Every time I got a notice that the one particular breed that I was interested in was available, that dog would either already be adopted or I would have to fill out a lot of paperwork (which I didn't mind) and have someone come to my home (again didn't mind that, but I live in a very small town) and most of the rescue places were far away from me and there wasn't anyone willing to travel that far to check out my home, so I would never get a response back. Some of those rescue places want to put us through a lot just to give a dog a loving home and provide for them and here they are doing an awful job themselves! I ended up getting a dog from a breeder. I just grew tired of the ridiculousness of these rescue places that I had to deal with.

That is such a sad story about Eleanor! Brought tears to my eyes. I am such an animal lover myself. How could people like this be so cruel? That place should definitely be shut down I will say some prayers for Eleanor and hoping her beautiful spirit and soul is at rest I am sure she will always be with your brother and appreciated the time they spent together! I’m new to watching your videos and I’m loving it as I’m your age and I appreciate all the things you have to say as well as it more prevalent to me. I also live in Florida and in menopause. I also do not take any HRT as a I have a younger sister who just went thru breast cancer. Thankfully they caught it early and she only had to have a lumpectomy and radiation. One year ago we had a comparable experience with a rescue pup we had adopted. It was so horribly traumatic. After a few months, we went to another rescue and adopted a pair of brother pups. It has helped us heal but the pain of losing our poor little Sailor is always there because it felt so unnecessary. Warm thoughts to your brother, he is Eleanor's angel and hopefully can take comfort in that.

Tammy my heart goes out to your brother and I will keep him and this situation in my prayers. I help with rescue and this should not have happened. Your brother was right and any good vet listens to the owner who knows their pet or foster pet because they spend more time observing them and are sensitive to them. Unfortunately in rescue the way we find out about the negligent vets is usually through patients, insiders who work at the vet behind the scenes and our own experiences. Once rescues and rescuers find out about it we share, share share among the rescue community to protect other innocent owners and animals. You are doing that. There are many good SPCA's, but unfortunately some are about the money and no longer about the animals. We all have has to drive hours late night or middle of the night to a vet that is open in another city for emergencies. Your brother was listening to "authorities" he should be able to trust. Next time listen to your gut feeling and it's always better to be safe than sorry and go to your vet. He did the best he could within the limitations placed in him. ❤ The animal control shelters in California allow pets to be adopted and get spayed and neuter at their own vet with a signed waiver if the animal is sick or has a URI and specific time to submit proof of S/N to the shelter. God bless your brother and you for saving lives and your compassionate 💕🙏

Hi Tammy, I’m so sorry for your brother’s loss. It does sound like that the ASPCA vet or someone associated with the vet screwed something up during the surgery. He should certainly report what happened. I completely agree with you about dog owners picking up after their dogs. In my neighborhood, all of the houses are rear entries. The sidewalks in front of the homes are very nice and there are a few people that will walk their dogs on the sidewalks, but more people walk their dogs and/or their small kids in strollers down the alleles. It took me awhile to figure out why. It’s because they allow their dogs to poop anyway and they don’t pick it up. I have since requested that they pick up after their dogs and to take the baggies with them. 🤦‍♀️ 😡 You mentioned that Harley has allergies and that sometimes you have to bathe her to remove the pollen from her coat. They use to make allergy wipes for dogs. Supposedly, you can take a wipe or two to wipe over their coat and their feet. I’ve never tried them, but I thought I would mention it just in case you wanted to try them. I truly enjoy all of your videos including these chit chat types so please keep them coming. Tammy, That was so heartbreaking about that poor dog. You get attached so quickly and to have people not listen when your instinct tells you something is definitely wrong is so frustrating. I hope your brother is successful in getting this SPCA investigated. I agree why can't people clean up after there pet the proper way. Those same people are the ones that are livid if they find it in their yard. Thank you for sharing your fitness journey with us. You have given us some vital information. Tammy, you’re one of the few beauty influencers I follow on KZbin, so when I see an upload from you I pop in my earbuds and do some housework - so the longer the better! lol. Also, your hair is gorgeous but I get it that you may need a subtle change…we get a little older (58 here), and less maintenance of make up, hair, etc., is kind of freeing. But no matter what you decide to do - it’s your choice and it will be beautiful!

People not picking up after their dogs is one of my biggest pet peeves. It makes me so angry. I’ve learned kill shelters have a completely different attitude toward sick animals. I feel that they almost viewed them as disposable, as sad as that sounds. When I was a teenager, we got a puppy from the HS. After A week or so, she started getting sick so we took her to the clinic. I will never forget when the vet came in and told me that we had a very sick puppy and that they would put her down and we could pick out another dog. I didn’t want another dog. We had become attached to this dog. So, I insisted that we try treating her, and 17 years later we finally had to put her down. I am not a fan of the kill shelter clinics. Never went back after that. It’s also why I now only get my animals from no kill rescues.

A burn is so painful!!! Tammy, I just cannot find anything that smells good on me. I know there is a scent out there for me but I can't find it. So I love finding out what you wear. Oh my gosh the story about the dog and I am just crying. This just kills me. someone told me about a vibrating plate to help my osteopenia. Don't know if it works or not. As the owner of a rescue dog who suffered past trauma in her previous situation, my heart just breaks for your brother and the poor dog he tried to give a good home to! Both he and Elinor deserved far better treatment than they received! I hope this doesn't discourage him from rescuing a dog in the future. There are so many in need of a loving home! Oh it won't....he actually wants to foster them until a good home comes along in the future...I don't think he will be able to foster and then give them up...he becomes very attached to them...He has always rescued with the exception of two...and he takes all kinds of breeds in...Great Danes, Rot, Dobermans and mutts...He loves English Bulldogs and American Bulldogs...his daughter just rescued a Pomeranian/husky...he has threatened to steal. him from her...LOL

Tammy, I really really enjoy your videos. I find you more engaging, informative, relatable as well as entertaining than others. I need to go back to other prior videos and take notes on how and what you use for makeup step by step. As to your workout and diet routine, I am not as motivated as you when it comes to diet and exercise, but I am going to work harder at that. I am looking forward to seeing your new video on what you eat. Your weight loss journey is inspirational. You look amazing and I agree with other commenters that your arms are beautiful. Finally, what was done to Elinor was criminal and defies understanding. Someone else shared that they used their own vet when presented with having to spay their dog. Proof of the required procedure is generally all that is necessary. When our daughter rescued her dog, she was the second person to adopt him. The previous person failed to neuter the dog and was not compliant with the shelter’s rules. After a lengthy time, the dog was back at the shelter and available for our daughter to adopt. The shelter suspected that the previous person was using Finn for breeding purposes. Fortunately he made his way into her home and our lives.

Oh Tammy, my heartfelt condolences for your brother and Eleanor, crying my eyes out, so sad. You look fantastic. I trust no one with my dog but my vet, we left to Michigan for a few months last August and it took us 2 1/2 days to get there, as soon as we got there he quit eating on the road. Called my vet back home and he told me to get him to a vet as soon as possible and this nllodwdone, he suspected pancreatic and test came back positive. He told us if he doesn’t eat in 72 hrs he needs to be hospitalized So we packed up the essentials and headed back home, we arrived just in time and our vet put him in the hospital, my boy was there for 4 days, I was so scared. My vet told me I could come visit him, my dog has never been in a kennel or away by himself ever. I went the 2nd day but as I sat there I was crying because I had made an instant decision not to go in cause I know my Dobi he would be so happy to see me and think I was picking him up. In that instant an angel came, I do believe because I saw an attendant bringing my Dobi out to potty and he was wagging his tail, I went home with a smile on my face and later that evening, 9pm my vet sent me a video of Dobi finally eating, he came home on the 4th day. He’s been put on a prescription low-fat dog food and his vet said no people food ever or snacks. I use to cook his food ground turkey and veggies but it was the fatty snacks and other things my hubby use to give him. He’s doing good and has lost weight that his vet had wanted him to lose. He can now feel his ribs. He told me to tell my hubby if he ever gets pancreatitis again it would possibly be fatal. My Dobi will be 9 in March, he’s my everything. You’re looking fantastic.🥰🥰

😢So heartbreaking Tammy. I read your story on Instagram and was so happy to see beautiful Eleanor and your brother. I mentioned my brother recusing dogs since he was in his early 20’s, now 67. I was so hoping you were going to say after the operation, your brother took her to his vet. We have rescued cats. Never used any place but our vet to get our cats or find them on the street. I would think these organizations would do the operation for people who couldn’t afford it, but those that could afford it, could use their own vets. I hope your brother gets the Dr.’s name so he can warn other people in the area on Facebook etc and file a report. Hope it wasn’t a DEI hire. RIP to sweet Eleanor. Glad she had your brother’s love in her last days.

I love your chit chat videos; my purpose in watching videos is to learn something and necessarily about products; I appreciate that your emphasis is learning not just sell, sell, sell; I too am on a health journey; I was so good until the recent holidays; I have gained a few pounds back; however what I learned is that certain things I can no longer eat; just adding some sweets now and then has caused my joints to hurt; my hubby has noticed the difference in these short two months; so I am back on the wagon again; hopefully my body will shed some of this inflammation that is currently has.

Tammy, I love these chit chat videos you make, your hair is looking Amazing and I think you’re right about getting some of it taken off so then most of your hair will be the one colour and it will grow back but I have to say, I don’t know about you, but my hair used to grow really fast but as I’ve gotten older, it doesn’t grow as fast anymore, I had a fair bit taken off the bottom of my hair and it’s taking forever to grow back to the length I had it, so don’t forget to consider that if you’re going to get it cut, plus I think an up style with hair is a Style and always looks lovely 🥰 or even a slicked back ponytail always looks lovely 🥰. Great video as always and Again, I’m so sorry for the loss of Elinore, that place needs to be reported to the right people, cruelty to our furry friends is Not On for Me and many other fur baby lovers out here, I hope your brother is doing ok after such a tragedy that probably could of been prevented. Poor sweet Eleanor, the short time she was with your brother she felt the love, but not being allowed to take her to a vet is highly suspicious. I have done the very same to my forehead with the straighteners Tammy, also I have burnt my fingers a few times when they got caught inside the hot plates, I need to concentrate more. This story is so similar to my sisters. She adopted a Rottie. Rescue refused to let her get spayed at her vet. So the rescue had her go to someone known to be incompetent and did a botched surgery. My sister rushed the dog to an emergency vet. $10,000 later, the dog passed. Autopsy showed the botched surgery. Long story short.. my sister laywered up and the rescue had to pay the emergency bill. Such a terrible thing. These rescues need to stop contracting with bozo vets to save a buck. Annoys me when my sister wanted to pay for the spay at her vet. Such sad and similar stories.

So sorry for your brother. It’s very easy to fall in love with them quickly. When you know you know. I lost one of my two, Cowboy, last February 15th. He was 14 I think and I had had him and Bouie for four years. Not sure of ages because I took them in later in life. It broke my heart. And now cannot love on Bouie enough. The WHI was a flawed study! I have a history of breast CA and made a very informed decision with my OB (whom is also a breast CA survivor) and I started low dose HRT. My symptoms were starting to become horrible (brain fog, depression, insomnia, hot flashes).....I tried all the supplements and prescription symptom management. They helped somewhat. But, HRT has been a game changer for me. You would be a candidate for vaginal estradiol cream and face estriol cream (the estrogen is very low dose and not systemically absorbed). The research and guidelines of NAMS has changed. I appreciate you advocating for women's wellness in a healthy way without crazy diets and realistic/healthy lifestyle habits! You didn't list your concealer (it looks so good)!

Aww, poor Eleanor, my heart breaks for her and your brother. Just to let you know.....I adopted a pup from our Houston SPCA, she was too young to be fixed at that time and I had the manditory invitation to bring her back to get the surgery. I opted to use my vet and simply sent the medical records to them to confirm. They just wanted it done and were fine with me using my own vet at my expense. BTW Tammy----your arms are on fire!!!! When you were putting your hair back I was like, daaammnnn, look at her arms!!!! This motivates me!!!! Take care.

I am SO UPSET hearing this Beyond Heartbreaking story of Eleanor! 💔😞😢 Tammy, whomever that "Chop Shop" Veterinarian is that did this to her, he NEEDS to be Exposed! And that SPCA staff too! I would bet that all they did was to stick her in a kennel & leave her there to die a slow & painful death! I doubt they even looked her over, nor treated her at all!!! Can you tell us the information of who they are? I am SURE that Eleanor ISN'T the only dog, (or cat) he's Killed due to his apparent Neglect & Incompetence! And the fact that your Brother got Zero information of what she died from says to me that they're covering up something! And just the complete non-emotional, matter of fact way they told your Brother of Eleanor's death, speaks volumes of the kind of people that they are! This is just So Tragic! Eleanor was Flourishing in your Brother's care, and had he been allowed to bring her to his Vet, she'd still be alive!!! Please tell your Brother I/we...SO MANY of us, send our sincere sympathies for the loss of his sweet girl Eleanore. Your Brother sounds like a Wonderful person! Even though he only had Eleanor for a short time, she Knew that she was Loved & Valued by your Brother, and that meant the World to sweet Eleanor. Tammy can you do a video reviewing the Chanel sublimage concealer and foundation. There’s maybe a handful of women if you can find them reviewing it. There’s nothing but 20,30,40 and maybe some 50 year old women reviewing it. I love the long videos. More YOU is great. For burns...try applying colloidal silver gel immediately and I swear the burn will either not really burn or heal super fast. I keep one close to where I use my curling iron and it's magic. Great in the kitchen too! As a silver fox myself, I'm telling you once all your hair is silver, it's like jewelry on your head. ❤❤❤

My all time favorite fragrance is LE Labo Another 13 and second is Byredo Bal D Afrique….both very original and wonderful! I’ve tried tons and these are my favorites. I also enjoy Henry Rose Queens and Monsters. A lot of perfumes give me a headache but these do not. The story about Eleanor, just broke my heart.😢. I’m worried about our new puppy getting spayed in March, but I trust our vet. I love how real your videos are, and how you tell it like it is. Your hair will look gorgeous when you cut it. My hair gets waist length, and I cut it to my shoulder blades once a year. It comes back more bouncy and full of life. I usually do this before our cruise in February/March, and it holds a curl better for when I dress up in the evenings. I think the weight of my hair just pulls it down. My supplements make my hair grow very thick, and fast! I love the new you, keep up the great work.😀
