Ain't nothing wrong with MSG. People listen to and believe everything they here without having any understanding. I'm going to try my first chitlins in the pressure cooker today. Thanks for the video!!

MSG is good just not for chitterlings. I used on them before it ruined the chittlin flavor. My friend on the other hand love it on chittlins
@paulaajohnson25972 жыл бұрын
@@chameleongirl MSG is just another type of salt used as a flavor enhancer. I was migraine-prone years ago, but it never bothered me. It's sold as Accent in the US and as pricey AjinoMoto from Japan.

3/14/24: Some only make this around the holidays, but not me. Life is short, so I make them anytime I feel the urge for them. Unfortunately, they've been extremely expensive lately, so I'll wait and keep checking for the price to come down; they're bound to before Thanksgiving kicks in! As for the Insta-Pot ("IP"), I wondered if I could make Chitlins in it and here you came along. You cooked yours for 4 hours, yet someone posted that they did theirs for 30 minutes and it came out "buttery soft", a big difference in time, so I think I'll do mine for 3 hours, just to be on the safe side. OMG, I'm excited that these can be done in the IP, my mouth watered watching you taste test it! Thank you so much for the recipe and the time you took to share it. Yum! 😋

The instant pot is not the same as a crockpot. 3 hours is wild long to cook anything in there. It takes only 1 hour for a full 3 pound roast (Roughly 20 per pound). 30 mins in an instant pot for chitlings would make more sense. Also, I know it’s “chitterlings” but I’m southern

These look delicious! But I'm confused. I thought the point of using a pressure cooker like the Instant Pot was supposed to reduce the amount of time it takes to cook things? It takes me 3-4 hrs to cook hog maws & chitlins on the regular stove.

Pressure cookers cook under pressure to shorten the cooking time, that is the purpose of using pressure. 4 hours is entirely too long.
