This was a process, but I did this JUST for yall!!!! Share this video with all ya country family and friends and give it a thumbs up❤❤❤ P.s a reoccurring comment will likely be “I’ve never seen them this way” you are correct lol! This is how IIIIII make them if I were to eat them! I like multiple textures I.e why I’ve added in the additional non “traditional” items!

This is why many people prepare it once a year during the holiday for those who enjoys dining on a special dish of chitterlin and letting the children try it for the first time as a way to see if they would like it. Giving children a lesson in the Black History of the reason why many black folks love chitterlin as well as to remember the past.

Growing up our parents taught us how to clean chitterlings at a early age I’m talking about the red buckets - We always ate them for New Years with greens & potato salad - Dad mixed ours with hog maws - to get rid of the smell you soak them in Italian dressing overnight- so when you cook them you won’t smell them at all🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 I’ve honestly never seen them cooked with potatoes and neckbones.

My sons father's mother, that lady is the only person whose pork i could eat. Her chitterlings were so clean the water was clear, she would add potatoes, onions, and bell peppers to hers. It was no boo boo smell in her house. That woman could coooookkkkk her butt off. My mom could cook. But that lady could jam. Her pig snouts was bomb. She would boil them them BBQ them. So crispy n good.🤤😋. Chicken and gravy 🔥. RIH MAMA REESE.

There are a lot of people who do think that those frozen prewashed chitterlin are clean. I used to watch my mom and sister clean chitterlin for hours based on the number of pounds of chitterlin. The minal started at 40 to 60 pounds, and they would have also cleaned 30 pounds of hognaw. They would have cleaned it the same way that you are doing. My family never trusts anyone else, chitterlin, because if you could smell it, then it wasn't properly clean, and you will make someone sick with that mess. I remember when someone gave my mom a big container of cooked chitterlin and claimed that they make the best chitterlin ever. My opening up the container of chitterlin outside in the backyard to give it to the dogs. The dogs didn't want to eat the chitterlin to because it stink that bad. After all of those years of watching my mom and sister cleaning and cooking chitterlin, now it is my turn to do the chitterlin cooking so far, cleaning and cooking chitterlin without trash and no smell. I only do this once a year, and I start early by cleaning the chitterlin and freezing it because this is a long process.
