The inaugural Chitrashaala Short Film Festival, organised by Village Square at Alliance Francaise, showcased 14 short films exploring rural arts, crafts, and climate change. The event featured engaging discussions with filmmakers and actors like Muzaffar Ali, Adil Hussain, and Faisal Malik, who shared insights on their craft and personal journeys. Highlights included films addressing rural challenges and student-made shorts that received wide appreciation.
Part of the India Rural Colloquy 2024, Chitrashaala aimed to raise awareness about rural issues and climate change. The festival, part of a series of events from August 1-8 across several states, included panel discussions and screenings that emphasized rural development. With participation from civil society, government, and business leaders, the Colloquy focused on inspiring actionable solutions for a thriving rural India.
