"Chitto jetha bhoisunyo" | "Where the mind is without fear"

Rabindranath Tagore is not limited to Bengalis. That's why he is called "Biswa-Kobi" or "The Poet of the World. He has been there with us, through all our lives and emotions, from every school morning, singing our national anthem, to our first loves, our heartbreaks, our prayers, our sorrows, our voice of protest, and our joys. He is often quoted in world leaders' speeches. After organizing pacific northwest's first-of-its-kind multi-genre "Rabindra Utsab" with 135+ artists and 20+ volunteers for 2 days in the weekend in Seattle, here's my offer to the poet today on his birthday. Here's one excerpt from my latest solo production on contemporary Indian classical "Mukti- the quest for freedom." where I am a dancing storyteller to the poem with the famous line, "Where the mind is without fear."
