Anyone's guess really; to the old guard of Hollywood becoming complacent and lazy in their ivory towers, to them simply having no idea how to recreate the magic of these movies, to them having less imagination than a brick. . . and it could be possible that Hollywood has gone "woke" , whatever that means in terms of business (I know what woke means for the public, being aware of the social injustices in our society and trying to end them through whatever means you're capable of; but when it comes to companies. . I have no bloody idea what they're doing, they clearly have no idea what woke actually means yet they keep using it sooo. . . I donno.). Point is, without an insider blowing a toot sweet on why they can't do this anymore, it's anyone's guess sadly. =(

@coventrygardens AND have you noticed the 'other' connection between the bond movies and "Chitty"? Not just Ian Fleming but that Desmond Llewellyn played the part of "Q" in the Bond movies (until recently) and also the part of "Coggins" in "Chitty"! AND both Bond and Potts drove incredibly famous motor cars - the DB5 and Chitty. Fleming must have been a car lover.
