Counters take some time to learn but once you get a hang of it, it is really nice.

You probably don't really like duelling, and I totally understand that, but I find that the best and quickest way to learn how to counter is hopping on a duelling server and duel a bunch of people just focused on countering every attack, not even winning. Maybe you can give it a try? Great video, as always!

I duel at the end of every stream haha or at least at some point. I used to duel 24/7 when I first started playing. It's just not my preferred game mode. Dueling is a great skill to have but just like in real life it doesn't necessarily mean you'll do better on the battlefield. Some guys destroy me 95% of the time in duels but when thrown into TO struggle. Seen it first hand and it surprises me every time but it makes sense that the skillsets don't 100% overlap.

I think it is the other way round. Being good at duelling you will be good at TO. I can't think of any good duellers on the Aussie server that struggle in TO. Also gotta remember sometimes friends (who are noobs) play on people's accounts and will generally be playing TO.
@klevinduck7 ай бұрын
Yeah true with the sharing accounts. On the note of duelists in TO obviously dueling is good when you fight on the flanks or when you get caught out in 1v1s. However, you still need the fundamentals of team positioning and reading the flow of battle in order to do well. If that's neglected you will find yourself getting isolated and destroyed when against similarly skilled opponents. This can be the case (but not always) for duelists with little experience in TO.

@@klevinduck I agree that positioning is very important in TO, but duelling does teach good footwork so I feel like it's not the strongest argument. In my mind a good dueller will be good in TO but a good TOer will not necessarily be good in duels. I am nowhere close to the level of some of the insane duellers on the Aussie server like Guts xd and goatonvalium but I find it quite easy to top leaderboards in TO I am blue meanies btw 😁

@@jayminwoodcock2863 Yeah dueling is teaches great footwork for the dueling aspect. On a macro level one also needs to consider team rotations, spawn waves, how flanks collapse, etc. Bro you are such a good duelist much respect. I enjoy our duels because there is a lot to learn. I agree that a good duelist who has never played TO can do well but a good TO player who has never played duels may struggle. It comes down to the individual player. We can generalise and in that sense I agree with you.

Counter with a switch up will really mess them up. I do it almost constantly.

Yeah for sure. Told myself not to do switch ups just to practice counters haha.
