FYI folks: In-game sensitivity is best set to a value between 15 and 35 and your mouse dpi should be between 1000 and 2500. (Some use 6/11 mouse speed in windows settings as well). The in-game sensitivity needs to be low(er) as it will greatly increase you movements accuracy, especially for drags. These values are the general consensus throughout the experienced players. Also, a retail, non-gaming mouse will have you at a huge disadvantage if you cant change the dpi setting, keep that in mind. And its recommended to move your mouse more instead of using higher sensitivity. A large size mouse pad does wonders here.

One of my favo moves is to start with alt slash, move about 45-60 degrees to the right with the motion of that slash. Then combo in a normal slash. Because of your >45 degree angle you took, you're now with your back to the enemies that is still in recovery and the normal reversed slash will be line up to make a instant hit. This time I do not move, but stay with back to enemy to combo a reverse over head. It gets a lot of wow's and wtf's and sometimes a votekick or cheat accusation, but hey. Don't blame the player, blame the game..

However funny it looked, how hi-level players, possibly out of necessity, considered reverses a valid tactic, those exploits were cancerous and ruined the game. If reverses were fixed, Mordhau might've been considered a - mostly - redundant game.

This game "proposal" was to be a simulator of medieval wars, those "reversals" and swing manimulations totally ruins the whole idea. I bought the game a week ago, and find it absolutely amazing!! But when I start searching for advanced combat and found this kind of stuff, idk.. the pro-players combat is just so ugly to watch, seems to be just about bug exploiting. For me, a way to fix this would be defining a certain spot of the swing where the damage dealt is full. So the spots around would deal less damage. Example: This reversal strikes the enemy at begining of the swing, so it wouldn't do much damage. Same as the draggings, where the contact occurs at the end of the swing, meaning that it wouldn't have enough power. Also, they must make it harder to parry. Something like having to aim in the exact point to RMB. Besides that, great job.. your video is very informative!

Like the guy said, it would just be stamina wars and they game would likely never even become competitive. But I totally get what you're saying. But as far as gameplay goes.. And EVERYTHING and I do mean everything can be countered if you simply stop bitching about it and think about how you can fight it. This game isn't about swords, they could be fighting with anything. It isn't about medieval times either. It's all psychological and being unpredictable. If you don't want to play it and the way the game is actually made then stop bitching and play a different game. 2 years since you quit and i'm still playing. If that is the worst exploit you've ever seen in a video game, then you have not seen very much video games. I wouldn't even consider it to be a real exploit tbh. You learn to deal with it and players will soon quit doing it to you, when they understand that they get punished every time they try. +Mad Cow oh that one is easy. first, don't panic parry or succumb to body feints u shit lurd. Next, don't riposte if they are dodge spammers, you'll just waste your stamina, and potentially give them a free hit. third, some maa's will attack as soon as they see they're opponent start a drag for a free hit, so disguise accels as drags. lastly, feint, but only if they don't dodge out of parry. If they are skilled enough and make sufficient use of feints and dodges you are probably boned though lel.

I expected a rather normal duel start but he pulled of all the tricks right away and killed me pretty easily because I wasn't expecting that. I could respawn instantly, though, fought him again and did the same to him which surprised him obviously because he couldn't parry even one of my strikes... and ran away. I was really angry at a teammate who crushed his skull with a polehammer while he was chickening out haha. No offense, but that was really funny. :P Seeing these videos feels kind of strange to me because he knows so much that it makes me wonder how I could make him impersonate Brave Sir Robin back then. ;)

Can you stab drag further while crouching? It always feels like it - but it might be just an illusion. I find it's sometimes possible to pull a zwei almost 180deg in crouch but struggle to do it normally.

Well I'm sorry that a majority of the fanbase just wanted a game to slug out on, not this feint/combo/drag/reverse ballerina fest that it became. I'm all about dominant strategy, but when those strategies are not fun to fight, people are going to leave. Esports had nothing to do with its death, it was that people stopped having the fun that they had when the game first game out. People min/maxed the fuck out of it and strangled it of the magic, and everyone suffers. Instead of resorting the glitchy, weird and unintended tactics maybe they could have ya know...fixed the game, and added in more mechanics to create a legible skill ceiling/floor, but nah.

No the game died because of fairy nights who could literally hit you a full second after there swing ended facing the other direction while there blade was no where near you. The game died when they showed zero. ZERO care for cheaters. the game died when the animations couldn't keep up with the fucking game. Chiv was cool for all of about 200hours. I dont find it fun learning when to block and attack something that looks completely ridiculous and neither did any of my friends. You can get good at it sure. but is it fun?..

Anaklusmos Learn to play against them. They're typically easy to beat. Learn how to run around their swings, get out of the way, and hit them. They'll keep on spinning once you run away and you'll get an easy punish.

The sensitivity of the people in these comments is above 100 for sure. Dragging makes the game less boring and actually makes you want to play it and develop new techniques.
