This ending is so quietly sad, james choosing to sink deeper into his denail and leave reality behind, the way Mary's voice is as crackly as the tape shows just how hollow a replica this is, not that it matters to james.

I don't know if you've noticed, but James has a flashlight on the chest part of his jacket in the video, and his clothes are the same. This situation suggests that there was a recent intervention in the VHS, whether in his mind or by somehow transferring his soul there, it's hard to say.

Stillness ending is incredible, but the Bliss ending outright destroyed me. I'm unsure what's a better option for James after all he went through. He can "leave," but does he ever? He can die, but is he already dead? This is perhaps his only way to find comfort in a replica of a reality.

Well stillness is kinda same as in water but bliss is good ending that been added And i think leave ending is the most fitting ending to the game And yah there's always rebirth

A cassette player in the game mentions a patient who is in a state of happiness living in his own dream like world. And it mentions whether the doctor should try and take him out of his world and bring back into the real world. I think it suggests that James is a patient at the hospital.

Honestly, despite James running from his problems, this is such a beautiful, yet haunting, ending to his story. In water is so sad and Leave is kinda cliche. I just like seeing James happy for once.

This one hit me like a truck. The sentiment is essentially "I don't want to die, I'm not ready to die, but I don't want anything to do with this world anymore and I can't keep living without you. So I'll just retreat into my memories and stay there forever". I relate a little too much, it felt like a stab to the heart. As someone who was always a huge fan of the original and extremely meticulous about this remake's shortcomings I say well done to the new Team Silent. They really understand James's character and knocked it out of the park with this one.

And Laura roams the town without the people she met along the way, with no explanation. Now doomed to think her actions caused James & Eddie to abandon her without a word, now due to that trauma: A) Laura eventually dies from lack of nutrients. Or B) the town curses Laura and she faces her own monsters, and with no combat ability, she'll eventually get torn to splinters as SH claims another victim

My first ending was the Maria ending which I should of hear her having a conversation but I was rushing lol. Next time you do that go manual save at the hotel at the front desk before you drink it

i konw that everyone is after the clue of the item you use to get this ending to conclude that its a hallucination but i got a different approach to this ending, i think that glimpse where james get absorted is an intrusive thought where the whole game story lies in, anyone who has loved someone kows that fear about lose the significant other mostly triggered in this kind of momment when you think you cant be more happy with that person making this ending indeed a bliss and a good+ ending to my sight

In order to get this ending you have to drink the White Claudia before watching the video which is a hallucinogen. Chances are, like the other guy said, due to the effects of the drug, James got up and wandered away before he could learn the truth. In other words, he chose to be willfully ignorant about the source of his guilt.

This ending broke the flood gates for me. Thanks for the explanation yall. This has to be my new favorite ending
