DEVELOPING DISCIPLINE!!!! As someone who is in my mid-twenties, I’ve acknowledged that motivation is a fluctuating feeling , and I can’t rely on that alone in order to accomplish all that I want. Too often we hear so many opinions and advice on how to stay motivated, when in reality we need more discipline! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I think the most important life lesson is placing God as your number 1 priority- everything else will fa into place, it's a blessing to love God but also be transformed by Him and live according to His standards and will.

When you said smiling could lead to marriage, I made a mental note, I’ll start smiling now. I relate with the body image. In high school, I was skinny, not extremely but I was slim. I wanted a butt and wanted to be curvier. First time I came back from college I was 18 and I gained weight. I’m 21 now, lost a little weight, got a little more butt and I’m just now learning to love my body. It is a journey.

I’m only 22 and depressed as hell. Father wasn’t there so I’ve been through three of my moms marriages. Now she’s married to someone emotionally abusive to me and frankly doesn’t seem like he cares and my mom doesn’t care about my well being to divorce and that’s her choice. I’m just typing here because I’ve extremely depressed and suicidal. I tried drugs, connecting with people, and therapists. Working full time and I was even more depressed and anxious. I don’t know what to do besides bite the bullet get another job and fall back into that hole. If the grammar was bad sorry, I’m overwhelmed.

I don’t know if you believe in God. But I’ve been there where I wanted to throw it all away and give up on this thing called life but I always saw light at the end of that dark tunnel because of Christ. He is close to the broken hearted and hears your cry just open yourself up for Him to come intervene in your situation like He did mine. Let go and Let God. You have a God given purpose and destiny and were never meant to deal with this alone. Trust God to pull you through. I will pray for you I know you’ll make it through these storms.

The friendships advice is very important. A lot of people hold onto meaningless friendships because of how long they’ve known them. Don’t be available for people who don’t align with who you are now. All my acquaintances believe am a very busy person, yes my alone time is very important that’s why am never available ✊🏾

I turned 28 in November, and I'm right there with you on the panic! I feel like with Covid, I was for the first time in years, "allowed" to spend some time on self care. I started to try to take care of my 2a/2b/2c waves/curls for the first time in my life! For the first time ever, I actually enjoy my hair! I also decided that now was the time to go to grad school and change my career to the path I originally wanted to go on! (Masters of Social Work, here I come!) Reinventing myself this year, and destroying my preconceived "timelines"! I wish you all the best in reinventing yourself too!!

Congratulations on your self growth. Went through those growing pains as well, trying to fit a relationship in my life and learning to stand up to my Nigerian mother. I felt that pressure too but made my own decision when it came to my life partner. I am much older now and more comfortable in my own skin. As for friends, I can say I only have a couple from high school I keep in contact with in different states. As you said life responsibilities and work keeps me so busy that I don't really have time for my friends from college. I have been doing taebo for a very long time so exercise has been a part of my life. I started using black soap for clearer skin as well as sheabutter for dryness. I can say I am proud of who I am now at 38yrs old. The rest I leave it up to the lord. Being comfortable in your own skin and living for God is most important to me. What everyone thinks, doesn't really matter anymore.

How you feel about turning 26 and being like I am older and feeling like an adult again is how I feel about turning 25 because I am like I can rent a car now for a better insurance price which means I can't do anything now as an adult and me and my brother are 7 years apart which means I can now be in different bracket. I feel you about both skincare and therapy I started heavy into both during pandemic and I am so much better now. I agree about being single in my 20s I had alot of situationships and not relationship since I was 17 so I am enjoying my freedom and learning myself.
