This should be required viewing for all the new naturals that don't have loose hair. The ones who ask girls like Jasmine "what do you put in your hair to make it curly because mine won't curl like that". Love your hair and your hair texture because you can't make it something else. Great video Chizi!

I disagree. You can make your hair look anyway you want it to. How hard it is and how long it takes to accomplish just depends on where you start off and where you want to go. I have a hair texture similar to Jasmines all I wanted for years was an Angela Davis style fro and I found a way to create that. By all means love your hair, but I think it should be ok to try a different look from time to time. That said using Jasmines technique is not going to change your hair texture.

undetestable1 Have to disagree, some of us have limits to what our hair can do. You can only work with what you have. You need to appreciate how your hair differs from someone else’s, then you can do an interpretation

For all the people claiming this video as “self deprecating”, this is my takeaway😂I’ve been about 3 years natural now and Chizi is pretty much my hair twin. I feel like everyone who started off their natural journey, and went into the KZbin tutorials knowing absolute shit about their hair type has clicked on a tutorial that was not meant for them and attempted it because they just didn’t know better. And I find that this video is just a sort of half wit and humorous dedication to that. And if someone hasn’t ever done that it would be interesting to see how different hair types react! It ain’t that serious sis, Chizi doesn’t hate her hair type...✌️

This is what happens when our type 4 sistas follow the type 3 hair people....we need more 4 (especially TRUE 4B and 4C) women to do their hair on camera. Edit: I feel that this is a good project! Because I get tired of my 4 (especially 4c) sistas thinking and even SAYING that our hair can do what these other types can. NEWSFLASH...NO. IT. CAN'T! Her vid proved it! I'm glad that she did this.

+Nadine It's just that your hair type is different and requires different techniques. Like I've tried to do twist-outs which always result in instant dreds. 4c silk press always moves like 1c hair, not for me. I think the video is trying to highlight that watching videos for girls with a completely different hair type will result in a disaster.

Actually I think we really miss a 5th category... That's why some people argue in comments whether someone's hair is 4c or not^^ I consider my hair 4c, but I know some sistas that have waaaay kinkier hair, and I think that's why there is so much confusion! We should really add our own categories, that white man that created this hair grading system clearly did not know how different kinky hair can be...

Some of y’all are really sitting here getting upset that a black woman with type 4 hair decided to make a lighthearted video of her attempting to follow a hair tutorial by another black woman who happens to have a looser texture. Are you okay? 🤔Like it’s not that serious and the “I tried following..” videos are intended to be funny/ comical. They’re done for the viewers entertainment not because any of these youtubers are actually going out and doing these tutorials in their daily lives. Like chill out and just enjoy the video.

I agree with what you’re saying..I like these type of comical hair videos. However, Jasmine is half Hispanic..she just doesn’t “happen” to have a looser texture. Honestly to me its not even the fact that she did it and the fact that the results wouldn't be the same. I just didn't like when she was trying to debunk every opinion jasmine had. For example jasmine said one of the products was thick she had to add on "its not that thick" obviously it won't be to you your hair is thicker. Also she said "no one uses a micro fiber towel" okayy not because u don't means other people don't. I just found the made a lot of unnecessary comments that came off as shade. And also some of her facial expressions

Nichole I’m sorry, but your statement is dumb af. How is it that based on that single episode the whole of Arthur is automatically racist??! In what way? Jews are known for their fros and like blacks, similar results can happen when they use products not Afro or kinky textured friendly. You know nothing about Arthur. Foh with your bs. Nadine Davis From what I've seen, type 4 hair is a little more difficult. I prayed I wouldn't have type 4 hair, not because it isn't gorgeous but because I'm lazy as hell 😁 I quickly realized you can't really be lazy and natural anything at the same time and still look good. Regardless, that doesn't mean it's not "good hair" or isn't beautiful and I don't think her video perpetuates that argument. She's just revealing a truth. I always knew that everyone didn’t have the same texture as me but didn’t think that they requieres different methods and hair products as me. @@user-vu8zy1pu3v That's not true though. Low porosity hair has a hard time absorbing moisture, so having simply damp hair is not enough. You need to have it wet, like fresh out of the shower or continuously applying water throughout your styling process. Melonee Cooper her hair is 3a/3b. It’s too curly to be 2c. 2c hair is more wavy and loose.

Sussex Sandra her hair quickly turns into 3a with tons of product. But hey whos arguing. 2c without all the product. Just my opinion.

If your hair isn’t that thick it’s no need. I used to think the same till I realized what us thick haired folk have to do thinned hair folks don’t.

I’m stunned when I see people easily comb through their hair. People really wonder why is takes us ages to even comb our entire head.

I find these videos so funny and relatable when I first became natural about 4-5 years ago I knrw nothing about hair and I was the only person in my family with natural hair so of course I went to KZbin to watch tutorials and get some help. At that time I was 13 so of course I didn’t know the difference between hair types and just clicked on the most viewed video which is usually somebody with a looser natural hair texture. I tried all different types of wash n gos and twist outs while using the same products they recommend and it always came out looking a HOT MESS. Eventually I did my own research and found tutorials with people with my hair texture and got products that actually work for me. Now I be slaying the natural hair game but this video brings up the beginning of my journey and I loved that you did it even though it was done for humor. Don’t listen to haters we know why you did it and that you have no problem with your hair texture. You got yourself a new subscriber.

Type 4 hair is so freaking beautiful and versatile. It's basically magic if you give it enough love.

Actually I don't think you should give up on the technique you might have to tweak it a little bit to adapt to your hair texture I like the idea of the Clips and your hair you're the root try it again but also look for people with your hair texture that's doing a similar hairstyle keep practicing till you find something that works well

You are gorgeous. Your features are stunning and I think your hair is cute no matter you do with it. Heck you're one of those lucky girls that could shave their hair off and totally rock that look too. And you have a really fun personality too! Lol Im a white girl so my hair obviously is very different and I'm not even sure how I ended up on your channel but I'm addicted to watching you try out all these other youtubers techniques xoxo
