Have you ever heard of Stockholm Syndrome? The trauma you develop when you are kidnapped and you depend your life with the kidnapper specially when they are being manipulative. This is the worst interview of a victim I've ever watched. He jumped into conclusion without giving her the benefit of the doubt. It's already a very traumatic experience. And telling your experience and being judged is like being kidnapped and exploited over and over again. He interrogates and accuses her like she's the perpetrator. He is very derogatory and accusatory. It's upsetting to watch.

What a horrible interview from Piers, to completely cut her off mid-sentence (as per usual) and not even hear her out. Trauma doesn't look like one thing, you all clearly have no emotional inteligence in these comments, or experience with someone who has experienced this level of trauma. Why did he drop her at the embassy/police station - surely to convince a kidnapper to free you, you would pretend you are not going to tell a soul - so wouldn't he have dropped her off at airport. That's the bit I do not get - since when do crooks drop their victims at the police station - what am I missing?
@patriziapiccardo24284 ай бұрын
You're missing a lot. He had got into his head that they loved each other and they were going to be together. He wanted her to be safe, paradoxically, and not just leave her alone at an airport, where with the way she looked and no luggage she would still be asked a lot of questions. To make sure she didn't talk, the best thing to do was persuade her not to talk. It was absolutely nothing to do with where he dropped her off. The 2 things are not related. He tried to persuade her not to talk by a mixture of stick and carrot: you and your family will be killed if you tell anyone + I'm trying to protect you, I'm on your side, I care about you, I want to be with you, I'm saving you. He knew that everyone in the UK knew she had gone missing for days. She could not realistically turn up back home with nothing, no clothes, no luggage, not even her phone, and claim nothing had happened. He came up with a story he wanted her to tell and at 1st she believed he had saved her life and tried to stick to the story. But obviously in the end the made up story didn't make sense and she had to tell the truth. Got it?

Hmmm. I think she told the truth. The men were convicted and sent to prison, after all.
