I totally agree. Hissing is a warning. You can take the cat out of the wild but you can't take the wild out of the cat. Unfortunately this cat can never be returned to the wild. And this video just encourages uneducated people to want one. If this cat decides to bite it'll do some serious damage.

Cute Serval, but super disappointing that she appears to be not only declawed, but both in the front and back. Not sure of her age, but I wonder if thats why she lacks any muscle tone and her muscles look atrophied (I hope its due to old age which Im assuming it is and not due to anything else). I really hope she was a rescue and not purchased from the exotic pet trade and then declawed by you guys.....Edit to add: just saw in the Q and A vid she was indeed purchased as a kitten....which would mean he declawed her which is beyond disappointing.

On the other hand. This is not an outdoor cat, and it's clear they love her, and she seems very happy. My guess is that this is one of the better treated Serval cats in captivity. This couple deserves kudos. Chloe is lucky. This is a family.

@@riceball3105 perhaps you should do a little more googling. One of the biggest scourges in many countries are the illegal smugglers who do often supply "pet shops" with animals, reptiles and birds. Many of the illegal animals often die en route unless a reputable rehabilitation centre manager to rescue these creatures. Breeders of exotic animals certainly exist but are not always reputable. I happen to live in a country where poaching, illegal trading and worse, is a daily occurrence so yes, I will always question the ownership of exotic pets and why on earth would anyone want to domesticate these animals. I like adjacent to a nature reserve and often have spotted genets, vervet monkeys, bush babies and mongoose visiting. Nobody attempts to entrap, feed or make pets of them. Let them live in their natural habitats.
