FYI, you're using this upside down half the time. Directions clearly state that it should be used with arrows facing down. This ensures that the steam is delivered to the hair first, then the plates follow, gliding over the section, laying the cuticle flat and locking in the moisture from the steam. When it is upside down, the plates pass over the hair before the steam has been delivered to that area and you do not get the same anti-humidity or damage reduction results.

ahhhh I see what you mean now, that wasn't clear to me in the instructions but now I've read the fine print it says 'steam outlets and comb pointing to the ends of the hair' which means when I held it in my left hand this was the correct way for that side of my head, however when I held it in my right hand the comb was pointing upwards so this was the wrong way on this side (but could have been adjusted if I just span the straightener around - having blank side and water tank pointing towards the mirror rather than the steampod logo) makes sense! I will give it another go! But yeah left hand - left side of my head (as you look at me) is accurate 👌🏼

Hi. I had the very first version of Steampod and I have recently purchase version 4.0. My only confusion is that I don’t see the steam coming out like I did with my old one. When I close the iron to bring two plates together and wait, after a few seconds I see some moist but only on one end and not all along the plates. I don’t know whether this is how it should be …

I didn’t see much steam at all coming out either!! I’m going to do it again, ensure I 100% have it the right way up on both sides and report back

Is it safe to use daily or should one stick to once every 3 days for heat styling with a steampod?

I always say, it's safe to use heat on your hair everyday IF your hair is in good, healthy condition, you're using heat protection and you're not using temperatures of above 190C. My hair lasted well after using this though, so I don't think you'd need to use every day!

The original steampod iron is the only straightener that I will use on my very damaged hair. My hair reacts to it much better over time than any other straightener I've used. It really does seem to reduce the damage over time.
