So glad you made this. I am from West Virginia. My granny called this Brownie Pudding. She used coffee for the liquid as well. It is delicious. Granny also put a small amount of flaked salt on top. That makes it delicious as well.

I'm from Quebec Canada and we have a dessert we call "Pouding Chomeur" which is typically a French Quebec staple and reminded me a bit of your recipe…except it’s an easy homemade white/yellow cake in which we pour over a hot maple syrup, brown sugar & butter mixture and then cook in the oven - simply delicious! Does the same thing - cake floats to the top with a beautiful crispy edge because of all the delicous syrup and the maple liquid thickens at the bottom. You must try this! Of course eat this warm or reheat your pice every time YUMMY!

Coffee is the secret ingredient I use in my brownies. I brew decaf so my kids don't go crazy or stay up too late. It makes a big difference in the flavor. I sometimes add a very small dash of cinnamon too for more kick. Thank you for you the recipe. I love desserts like this that can be whipped up quickly while I'm making dinner.

How much coffee do you put in your brownie mix? And is the coffee in place of butter?
@andrearc3002 Жыл бұрын
@@mariannasharp3662 sorry for the super late response. I don't always get notifications from KZbin. I replace the water with coffee, so usually about a cup depending on the recipe or if I'm using a box mix. It is not a substitute for butter. Butter is important. I don't make brownies without butter. 🙂

My Hungarian grandmother made this when I was a kid over 30 years ago, it was always my favorite dessert. Once when I was 10 or 11 I made it myself, and I decided that I wanted to add coffee to it to add a new dimension to the flavor. Well me being the naive pre-teenager, I used the Folgers brew coffee thst my parents had instead of instant coffee. Needless to say, my first try at the dessert was quite.....grainy lol. Lesson learned on my part.

I would be tempted to put cottage cheese alongside this decadence, rather than ice cream. This was a tip taught to me by a woman raised in France; she adds it to warm cake and with something this rich, it would be even better. Yummy.
