In my opinion, I'd prefer top players to quit the game quietly and continue on with their life like Vaxei did, rather than playing forever. I like watching Shige and Rafis streaming osu! but it sometimes pains me, knowing how much they've been through. I want every top player to get a moment in the spotlight, but please, know when to redirect that burning fire and passion for the game to something else.

@@faststar1239 @faststar im pretty sure they are doing fine IRL having a normal life even when they're still playing osu because they are casually enjoying the game. eventually they'll quit when they are not enjoying it. but yeah i get your point, like cookiezi is still playing from 2009 for 13-14 years (even though he is taking a break every once in a while) the dedication for the game is crazy.

@@faststar1239 Most top players just play the game for the sake of having fun. That's why they've played for so long. You do have a point, considering cases like Adamqs where the player was well and truly addicted, but that's certainly not the case for most top players. Vaxei might've quit because he was simply not enjoying the game anymore. Most show absolutely no sign of not having fun, even after years of playing, and maintain irl friendships, relationships, families, and marriages. It is true that you can't judge anyone by how you see them on the Internet, but it's unreasonable to just assume everyone is trapped within a hellish prison fighting for their sanity. If that really was the case, then I would not want to imagine what 'addiction periods' which necessitated breaks were like for players like femboy tummy and Shige.
