I must say this must be one of the coolest knifes axe being made i enjoyed watching

Is this like a metal version of wood carving? End result looked good but that's all I'd trust it for. Never seen you touch a hammer the whole video, and that heat treat was a joke. Your attention to detail though is spectacular. Goodluck on future builds

Just awesome craftsmanship made from a bit of scrap metal, it makes me sick why people throw shit away sometimes without using their imagination to make something out of nothing. Always look at your stuff from another angle before you chuck it and give it ten more years of a new life, one of a kind and not manufactured! A job well done mate and good sweat. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿😊

Here in the Philippines, we utilize such raw material in which we call such leaf spring as “Mulye” from the Spanish word “Muelle” meaning Dock, Pier. We have local merchandisers here wherein they sell Itak Mulye and Jungle Bolo. Cheap and affordable yet very durable. I bought a cleaver 4 years ago ( 8-inches long, 3-inches wide and a quarter of an inch thick blade) I use it as a Butcher’s knife and as an axe to chop firewood. Very reliable. Haven’t sharpen it since then but still good as new.

Very cool knife. Just a tip. Use a magnet 🧲 to test the edge when differentially heat treating the edge. I don’t think there’s anyway that got near hot enough to Harden the knife. Or use a file to check the skate of edge. Very cool design and idea. God job.

Looks absolutely beautiful. However, if it was laid horizontally and cut in half. You would have ended up with two beautiful blades. Can't imagine how much that monster weighs. Two thick to be used as a slicer, that apple proved that. Possibly adding a heavy duty wooden handle and turn it into an axe? Heat treat really didn't appear to be able to get that metal heated properly and was that water that was utilized for a quench? All in all it looks great, but, it would only be useful chopping though large bones. Keep working, it will come to you.

Wow. Such and awesome design and excellent execution. The finish looks beautiful of course, but I would give my right eye for this blade a stone washed finish and some thin and contoured micarta handle on-lays. its an amazing piece though. Not sure why there are so few if any comparable production options with a similar design. Seems very practical to me. Do you sell these at all?

Wow that's some thick steel. It must weigh a lot. Everytime I see someone removing steel with a grinder making a knife I cringe. Keeping the steel even and not wrapping the blade is really difficult. You have some talent, cutting steel with a torch. That knife is a beast! I wouldn't want to have to carry that knife very far on my hip. I'll end up walking in circles. You knife turned out nice. It would definitely chop bone. You should call that knife. The Bone Crusher, or The Beast! Its definitely that and more.
