I'm impressed that you got the Ramadhan spirit right! That means you did your research on the subject. You guys are awesome. We also do a lot of charity during the holy month. After 30 days of in meditative state or living like a monk for your understanding, we celebrate a big day of victory. You have to see Hari Raya Aidilfitri for that :)

@@chonmage_japan Apart from all those spiritual benefits, there are also the physical benefits that we get from fasting in Ramadhan. All those toxics you collected in a year will be detoxicated if we fast the right way. It should be the benefit of fasting and not the benefit of feasting like the way we do. 😁😬

Congratulations Taka and Sho for completing your first day of fasting. However do not force yourself to fast if you need to do hard work in a day. Here is a tips for you if you ever want to fast again. During SAHUR time which is at early dawn 5.30 am till subuh prayer, you eat odd number of dates ( you can find in abundance during Ramadhan). You can choose to eat 3, 5, 7 dates, up to your preference and then have other light meal that you like. Other way is to put few dates in water bottle, pour warm plain water night before, leave overnight and drink this water and those dates during sahur. Hope this help to combat hunger pain during fasting time.

Wanna know most of malaysian's first ramadan look like? We start practicing it since we were kids ( with our own will mostly) but!! Since we're still kids, for us fasting is hard 😂 we're lack of patience!! So our parents came up with ' fast only for half -day' as a training ,meaning that we can start eating again at 1 pm ... But As time goes by, we're able to fast till 7 pm

For char kuey teow, there’s two versions of it. If it comes from the chinese side, it means the non sauce version and char means they get the smoky aroma from the wok. If on the malay side, it means it comes with flooded sauce. Hope this helps! So check if it’s a dried one or flooded sauce for your char kuey teow

Congrats on your first day of fasting! 💪🏻 For your info, Muslims all over the world are fasting and going through the same thing Malaysians do too, especially other Southeast Asian countries who are facing the hot weather right now 😆 Also like some of the comments have stated, we are encouraged to wake up around 5am-5.30am to eat and drink something. So you can try this next time! We then break our fast at about 7.15-7.30pm depending on the "Maghrib" prayers timing in your area or country. Every country has slightly different timing, some countries like Greenland, Canada, UK fast for a longer period up to 18 hours.

Kuew Teow as the name suggested, originated from the chinese community. Char Kuew Teow actually means Stir-fried Kuew Teow in Hokkien language. You can find many Hokkien tribes in Penang, where Malay version of Char Kuew Teow originated... Up until here, can you see the connection? It is true in chinese community that Char Kuew Teow means Stir-fried Kuew Teow that is dry. It is in Malay community Char Kuew Teow means Wet Fried Kuew Teow and Kuey Teow Goreng means Stir-fried Kuew Teow. A new invention also that was not available before...
