This kid is riffing improve, mixing one song seamlessly with another while peppering it with playful variations on the melody. It's like his imagination is flowing out his fingers as though the piano doesn't even exist. That is not learned, it is gifted.

Whatever you did, Kerry, you did it right. Personally, I'd love to see your lad play with Derek Paravicini. He's an English guy related to Camilla Parker Bowles. He's severely autistic and completely blind, and the only pianist I've ever seen or heard that can do what Chooka does. I think a 'piano-off' between them would probably break KZbin forever. Search for 'The Musical Genius, Derek Paravicini by Channel 5 UK', if you want to see what I mean. If it happens, though, I want front row seats! Don't let me down. ;P

I came across Chooka on Australia's got talent on KZbin a couple of days ago and just HAD to see more of him and his music and then, i found this video. What can anyone say to describe this young mans music, talent and his obvious passion for the way he plays it???. Its even more amazing when you learn of his background and how he's taught himself to produce such beautiful music without so much as looking at a music sheet!. I guess the greatest compliment i can pay Chooka is the fact that ive never had much of an interest in listening to piano music but for this lad i'd happily PAY to go and watch him perform. I wish him nothing but good luck for his future and i hope he goes down in history as one of the great entertainers of his era.

As one who plays the piano myself, I will say that this young man's talent and skill exponentially exceeds mine. That said, what he needs is some training and the ability to create as another poster put it "discernible melodies." He also needs some finesse so that he can add dynamics to his playing. But again, his current skill level is off the charts. This is amazing talent and that is a whopping understatement!

Oh, you're just having too much fun on the piano, Chooka. That's the way to play, with joy. Too many trained pianists could never play as freely as you do, bro. Original ideas are born from just playing and playing. Being a drummer doesn't hurt, since the piano is essentially a percussive instrument when you really think about it. Hammers hitting strings, like a dulcimer. Keep having all the fun you can, dude. It's a journey anyway, no particular destination. Just let your heart and your ears guide you onward, just as you're doing now. Technique is one thing, but what and how you play cannot be taught, you're born with it and eventually it always finds it's way out. To be shared and brother, you're doing your thing. So happy for you to discover your passion. Good parents raising you well and with great values as a human being. Go forth and entertain the masses, remembering always, family is there, cheering you on. The world awaits those with the right stuff. You've definitely got it, young sir. Excellent touch, pedaling and tempo. Enjoyed this trip with you. I did this once at a piano store in Compton, once. It was a blast! Cheers, mate!

Your ear and familiarity with the keyboard are so superior to that of others. You can just sit there and play without even looking at the keys, and you can select the right notes and chords, etc, intuitively. The music flows out of you. Brilliant. Never stop. Try to have some of your pieces transcribed, because you will make money that way, and leave some if your creations for posterity.

Chooka, I have never in my live (and I am 50 now) seen a person being more dedicated to his instrument than you. I passed on this clip to all my friends with my comment: "Remember his name as it might be the "Mozart" of today's times...". You are in Music what Albert Einstein (an old friend of my Grandma) was in Physics... Also Albert had everything in his mind and mixed it the way you do it on the Piano. And one thing also is common, Albert had a great sense of humor and lived a quite simple life when he was the neighbour of my grand parents in Zurich.

You see, after playing guitar and piano for a decade. I have realized that there are 2 types of musicians. Those who naturally acquire sounds and music theory by countless hours of playing to the point where they can speak with their playing (Jimmy Hendrix, mozart etc..)They probably don't have a single idea what a Dorian mode is or what the circle of fifth does.. they don't care.. they feel it and their thoughts are instantly translated to sound.. while others like me who covered hours of formal music theory, trying to copy the greats and can never to seem to match them... Guys like this made me realize i wasted my a decade of my life..

you were blessed at your birth by the god of piano. and people like you have a really heavy responsability for their generation: to keep music alive. the audience does not want rihanna, bieber, one direction or any other made up marketed star. they're just singing puppets , pushed under the spotlights to sell clothes and magazines. no, people want artists, not models, they want guys and girls like you, who have nothing to sell but their art, who are nothing more that sensitive and creative humans. you belong to this category of people that wrote history of music, and now it's your turn to fill the page. keep it up and have fun, cause it's wonderful.
