Personally, unleashed boost will always be the best to me. The bubble like distortion, and the subtle rainbow effect reflecting off of it. It felt less like an anime aura for the sake of looking cool, and more like a result of going fast enough to suddenly shatter the sound barrier. It looked more scientific, even if thats not what would actually happen.

The forces aura just fits here. The others are cool and everything, but the forces aura softly covering Sonic as he runs is perfect.

The Boost in Forces is actually more faithful to how it was in the Rush Series. Not even just the Aura either, but you don't lose your horizontal momentum when jumping and can even boost upwards in the air (I could be wrong on that last one though). Hot Take, I don't like how the boost slows you down in the air while jumping in Unleashed - Gens.

I like unleashed and gens in their respective games but Forces and Colours work better here. SATSR speed boost gives me nostalgia 😊.

I love when little changes like this give the game so much more life. Sonic Frontiers’s Boost didn’t really feel like a Boost, but just adding something visually gives it a lot of feeling.

Well, that's because it is not a boost. It's just running faster. The boost deals damage to enemies, Frontier's running doesn't, and that's what I think fixed the boosting formula imo, the fact that enemies do something again lol

I think the Forces boost aura is the best in the series, simply for the fact that it leaves a trail behind Sonic. And it's stylistically really cool. The others look fine though.

I especially like Colors and Secret Rings the most. I just wish Colors had the trail follow where Sonic's been a bit more, and that the Secret Rings had a little more fire in the front. The latter looks perfect when he's closer to the screen, though!

My favorite boost will always be Generations/Unleshed. The Generations boost also matches very well with Sonic Frontiers, the Generations boost gives Sonic a greater aspect of speed.

From a guy who's never played a single mainline sonic game, only seen gameplay of others: Rocket is pretty sick, would be perfect for Blaze. Forces is alright, but the obvious kaleidoscope effect makes it feel off and doesn't really help in showing the speed. Colours in concept is pretty nice, but it definitely gets janky in the air. Generations is just behind rocket. I like it a lot, and it fits Sonic the character most. Secret Rings is incredible if a bit slow in comparison to the actual speed.

I think that Rocket Boost and Secret Rings are good as a max speed upgrade or powerup. Unleashed is okay. Colors is cool on the ground. not in the air. Forces is really cool, in my opinion.

something i can give colors ultimate credit for is customizable boost and boost auras frontiers has noticably better outfit customization than colors ultimate and they had a chance to expand on boost customization and they just- didnt for some reason

I just wish they kept the punchy sonic boom sound from Unleashed/Generations when starting a boost instead of this swishy magic sounding one. It’s still in the files too, used at least once in the Giganto boss ending cutscene
