We randomized Pokemon our starters, but we won't be able to see them! Instead, we'll only be given one of each starters resistances, and we'll have to choose knowing only that! The twist is, we can't repeat any resistances throughout the starter rounds, and if we run out of a type to say, something BAD will happen! After we have full teams of randomized Pokemon, we'll build the best teams we can and have a best of three Pokemon match.

I have a fun idea for a challenge. Could y’all please catch eight Pokemon of your choice that all have random abilities. Both of you also get to pick out the move sets after catching the Pokemon. Once you both acquire teams, read off each of your team members’ Pokedex entries. If the one being read to correctly identifies a Pokemon entry, he gets the option to force a trade without knowing the moveset of the identified Pokemon. The player who gets the identity correct is also able to pick out a custom ability for the traded Pokemon. Sabotaging some of your own team members is legal. Let’s say that the two leftover Pokemon with easy Pokédex entries are physical attackers like Machamp. You can rigg the entire moveset to be special or support moves. The Pokemon can’t be pseudo legends, legends, paradox, ultra beast, mythical or, starters to make it a bit more challenging.

I loved everything about this! My only complaint is that I don’t think you should ever be able to change a Pokémon you selected due to the “bad thing”. I think it scales better if the 6th step of the bad thing is a nerf towards your opponent, like can’t use setups moves on a Pokémon of your choice or only 3 moves or something. If Shady just hits the bad thing one more time, Luke gets to choose half his team which, imo, almost negates the point of the choosing starters gimmick in the first place. Just my opinion, though, love the content as always!

This entire friend group has been doing "then we fights" for so long I kind of really like the chance for things to get crazy. It really lets them shine with strategy, look at what Shady pulled out in this very video...in two fights.

I think I just like them battling with Pokémon that aren’t usually used or are considered “less good” which really only happens thanks to the randomness of the choosing starters gimmick. The second you let somebody choose any mon you start to see a lot of the same old op mons with op sets which is just a little less exciting for me. That being said, as long as only one person gets the op mons it’s always fun to see if the other person can beat them with a more rag tag-esq. bunch!

Wigglytuff Pokedex Entry said it's Rabbit Balloon Pokemon. So when Delta Stream ability came in, it make both Jigglypuff and Wigglytuff float. No other abilities except Delta Stream.

here is also little suggestion for "then we battle" videos: Each player will build a team from scratch using a wheel system. You can fill it up to 10 areas and players are to build their team with pokemon from the area they land on. You must catch 6 pokemon, but may respin after catching at least one pokemon from said area. Shiny pokemon will act as a wild card and may be used to have any other pokemon of the players choosing on the team,giving it any ability or they can give shiny any ability

I have a fun idea please atleast read it for once everyone- You get six pokemon packs(cards) and you have to choose 3 pokemons from the first card of the deck(which is always the bad ones) and 3 pokemon from the end of that pack or deck(which is many times good) and then you'll give them a custom ability or a custom move it'll be fun to have 3 good ones and 3 bad ones

A dope video idea would be each of you catching 6-8 pokemon & creating a custom moveset for them. (Either regular abilities or random. If random, you don't know the random ability beforehand). & you put all the pokemon into a collective pool & then you do a snake draft to choose your team. Only the person who caught the specific pokemon knows the moveset. So, you could give a really good pokemon a dogwater moveset. Must have at least 1 attacking move for each pokemon tho.

When Shady mentioned having to not overlap typings in what info is given in the starter portion, as well as the list of 'bad events' if they do repeat, if they had divided the 18 types between the 36 total mons there would've been ALOT more of guaranteed overlap lol; and as for the bad events or punishments if you will, if they had individual lists and didn't share a combined list it wouldn't have been as overlapped. So it's just the idea of how these two things work when put together like this that it can be very overpowering or really underwhelming. But I think it was quite well executed here

It would be kinda cool to see a sort of “little cup” format where you exclusively use some of the “worse” pokemon that never get a chance to shine, especially in formats like this where it gets warped by the rules of the selection game (Ninetales was one of the big special attackers until round like, 4/6) I wanna see a cricitune go toe to toe with a sable-eye, a morepeko vs a pacharisu. Edit: You guys are blinded and just choose whichever Pokémon starter, so if someone gets weak Pokémon and someone gets a legendary, it’s like a what if Shady got the legendary Pokémon instead of the weak Pokémon.

I wanna start by saying that I normally complain in the comments on these videos because you guys always seem to "randomize" into 90% legends but I was pleasantly surprised to see some of the more mid tier mons.
