You know what would be an interesting way of picking pokemon? You check the pokemons Base Stat Totals and tell your opponent the base stat total thats in the middle. So if you have a Koraidon with 670, Baxcalibur with 600, and Toxtricity with 502 for example, you would tell your opponent the Baxcaliburs 600 and which location it is in. Then it's up to them to choose the mid pokemon, or to gamble for a higher or lower BST pokemon.

Eeeeeeh, that doesn't really do much since theres no risk involved. If the identity of the pokemon is known they it's a clear pick or don't pick scenario. Sure, there's a possibility of there being a better mon, but knowing the identity of the mon gives much more info like move set possibilities and what the stats of the pokemon actually are, even the type of the pokemon. That information outweighs taking a risk on a better mon. And if they tell a bad mon or a mon not suitable for the team their building such as a type repeat, then it's a simple choice of choosing one of the others without much thought since there's a high probability of getting a better or more useful mon. Using BST keeps the mystery of the pokemon since BST is rarely memorized for mons besides those easy to remember. Especially when you can only say the BST of the mon with the middle BST.@@davigusmaodeoliveira9746

It would be interesting to do "Choose your Pokemon knowing only the Base Stat Total" But instead of telling them the actual bst, you tell them a pokemon that has the same bst. For example if your opponent got a Ludicolo as an option, you could tell them "Your first Pokemon has the same BST as Froslass." You'd have to decide what to do about Pokemon with unique BST's, because there's at least a few. Maybe just say the number for Pokemon who don't share a bst with any others

I never thought I'd hear about the RedMagic phone on here. I remember coming across them years ago back when hardly anyone knew about them. Klawf and medicham werent speed tied. Clawf started with an extra speed boost and since medicham has more starting speed, it also gets more speed per boost. I think it just overtook clawfs extra boost on exactly the turn it CCed

@@All54321 Yes but boosts are based on the *original* values of a stat. Each speed boost gives half of the boosting pokemon’s unboosted speed. so as an example imagine a case where clawf has 6 speed without boosts and medicham has 8. This means that each boost clawf gets is 3 speed and each boost medicham gets is 4 speed. So on the turn medicham switches in on +1 clawf it is outsped (8 to 9). But on the next turn medicham gets 4 more speed compared to clawfs 3. So +1 medicham and +2 clawf are speed tied at 12. And then on the turn after that +2 medicham will outspeed +3 clawf (16 to 15). Even though they are both boosting, medicham boosts faster because its starting speed is better. Something similar happens in the video
