We used a randomizer to randomize our Starter Choices in Scarlet & Violet, revealed the choices to our opponent by telling them the ability they naturally get, then lied about one! Once we both have a full team, we fight!

Every time it was a 60% to flinch since Iron Head has a 30% chance to flinch, and hitting twice makes that 2 times that. Pretty unlucky either way

@@luisGarcia-hq8mp ​ that's not really how stats work, can't just double add them together. By that logic if you could somehow hit 4 times you'd have a 120% chance of flinching. It's 2 different 30% chances so the odds are a bit lower, two chances at 30% is (1-0.7^2) = %51

For the iron head flinches, due to parental bond, the chance of a flinch is 51%. Iron head has a 30% chance to flinch, with that being applied twice, it leaves a 49% to move. The chance of 5 in a row is…about 1/32 ish.

@@bigloglog No, that’s not how chances work. You multiply the chances instead of adding them. In this case, the opponent has a 70% chance to move per hit. So, you times 70% (or 0.7) by 70% to make 49% to move, so a 51% chance to be flinched.

@@lukesullivan885 no, that's not how it works. Possibilities can't just be doubled like that. Well, if you have a coin, flip it and say if it's fair, then it has a 50% chance being heads. But flip it 2 times doesn't making it 50%×2=100% chance to be heads, it's a (100%-50%^2)=75% chance. That's how possibility works. And for your example, if the flinch chance is 20%, then parental bond boost it to 36%, not 40%.

Idk if parental bond is correctly coded, but since you have a flinch chance with both of your hits (as it should be), chances of you flinching with iron head (each hit has a 30% chance to flinch) are 51%. The only way to not get flinched is to not flinch by either move which is 0.7*0.7 = 0.49. That means you have a 49% chance to move or a 51% chance to flinch.

Iron Head has a 30% of flinching. With Parental Bond each hit gives you that chance. The chance that one of them flinch is 51%. So the chance of getting 5 consecutive flinches would be about 3.45%.

That's not entirely true. Parental Bond increases the likelihood of flinching as you said but it's not equal to a 60 % flinch like with Serene Grace because you actually multiply your opponent's odds of not flinching (0.7 * 0.7 = 0.49) to arrive at the probability of a Parental Bond flinch which is only 51 %.

Ideas for matches. Prepare a box or two with random mons with random abilities and then alternate drafting a team. Randomize 6 pokemon, 6 abilites, 6 items, etc. And then make the beat combinations possible
