I thought RM stopped selling lifting keels after a couple of boats sank when the keels fell out the bottom whilst moored.

that was like, what, 4-5 years ago? something to do with a flaw in the bolts not the keel design itself. RM was bought out by Grand Large Yachting group (Allures, Garcia, Outremer, Gunboat) that make lifting keel aluminum exploration vessels, so...

I race a wooden boat biilt in 1929. And that's not epoxied like RMs.

No RM is now part of successful group: Grand Large Yachting (incl also Outremer, Garcia, Allures, Gun Boats...)

RM went bust and Grand Large bought the yard but screwed over the 20 odd customers who had paid substantial deposits, offering them 22 - 50% of their deposit back IF they reordered at a higher price. Crooks facilitated by French protectionist laws. I wouldn't dream of buying new from from such a dodgy brand.

The bow cabin is a waste of space. You can't sleep there during a passage. It is only usable when you are at anchor.
