I passed a guy on the creek the other day that was amazoned out. Had a massive googan squad backpack with 3 poles strapped to it and fishing with the 4th pole. I asked him if he is having any luck and he said no, I said well I fished it all out for the next half mile but after that it is all untouched lol

Most of the fishing I do is in the Mobile/Tensaw Delta and while there are people who will wade or swim in the Delta I am not one. The water is rarely clear and there are too many critters - rattlesnakes, moccasins, huge gar and gators. Nope! Just last week I went catfishing, I caught three large blue crabs. I like having specific bags for how I fish. One bag just for the kayak, one for hiking, one for bass fishing, one for saltwater. This video helps a lot to learn better ways to do that. Thanks.

I’m a big fan of the Orvis mini sling pack. The strap is on my left shoulder so it doesn’t effect my casting, and it’s easy to access in the water. I always look at fly fishing equipment for my creek/stream/river fishing. They often have better options. A good option for bringing water is a BeFree bottle/filter.

When I started kayak fishing I found myself loading up so much stuff. After a while you get tired of packing a lot of stuff you just don't use. It's hard because if you don't have it and need it you wish you had it. But after time, you realize that you just don't need a lot of stuff. I am pretty much a minimalist now and I actually usually use a fly fishing chest rig with just a few lures that I know I will use. It's very small and lightweight and keeps me from overloading myself down with junk. Great tips!! --Brent

I use a sling bag and I like it, holds what I need and doesn't get in the way when casting.

Thanks for the video John. Just bought my first sling bag a Spiderwire bag. So far I'm liking the bag. I was definitely the guy with 4 3700 boxes and 3 rods for bank fishing. Made no sense and wore me out.

Good stuff. I’m still experimenting with a pack for long-ish wades. My piscifun Fanny pack is 10/10 for shorter trips. Have a backpack but it’s clumsy to spin around and change lures. Have a vest but it gets in the way of casting/using my GoPro. Just got a sling pack that’s a bit larger than my Fanny pack and I think that’s gonna be the ticket for when I need to take 2-3 bottles of water. Comfort with bringing your gear is key to a good trip. 2 packs of your favorite Ned rig style bait and stick baits, some soft swimbaits, a small box of cranks/topwaters/jerkbaits and maybe some jigs/spinners + hooks and sinkers is all you really need lure wise.

I'm looking to get a wading pack and that Magellan sling is good. Get a flexible/collapsible water bottle with carabiner.

Fill a bucket with a handful of baking soda and dunk that stinky pack in there and submerge it for a couple of hours. Pull it out and hang it in the sun until dry. No more stink. Happy fishing!
