All I’ll say: SeaDoo - Made in Mexico, engine made in Mexico. Yamaha and Kawasaki - Made in the USA, engine made in Japan. An informed consumer is a smart consumer.

How often does one need to rebuild Yamaha Supercharger? Doesn't the root supercharger in Kawi last longer? With less maintenance? Not sure about general maintenance? Which has less? Which has better prices on parts?

The Kawasaki has more maintenance, but failures on the Eaton s/c itself are non existent. The Kawi maintenance is definitely more involved than the Yamaha SVHOs- exhaust filters, belt tensioners, belt, fogging etc. I ride with Yammy guys in the ocean who are always complaining about the supercharger clutch.

The Yamaha unit is a high quality Japanese HKS front mounted supercharger. These things are a great unit and they make big power low down. That's the big difference between how the Seadoo builds power the Yami & Kawi have better low down muscle. I run a stock boost wheel with a Riva shaft works great

On the Yamaha at cruising speed if you trim the bow down you will get a smoother less bumpy ride because more of the "V" is in the water, but it is also a wetter ride. You can trim the bow up to get a dryer ride but not as smooth. In other words fixing one of your issues makes the other one worse. Probably the same with the Kawasaki.

I should mention that there were Kawasaki Jet Ski dealers in the US in 1974 selling Jet Skis before BRP even had a marketable patent…that being said, they don’t have as a robust dealer network, atleast in some regions.

kawi glove box is a joke and the yamaha actually has a powerful reverse to get your skii off the trailer without dunking it into salt water.
