Crocs are a great option but there are some other brands that you can check into as well. Zems, Camper for kids, Vivobarefoot for kids, and Merell barefoot. You will still want to make sure you are testing your child's foot on the shoe liner to ensure that each shoe will fit with your child's foot, but generally these are some brands that have flat, wide, and flexible qualities in their kids shoe options.

Thank you!!! Unfortunatelly in my country the recommendations are absolutely different. So it's difficult to find really soft and flexible shoes.

It can definitely be a struggle to find proper shoes in some parts of the world--or even in the United States. We appreciate you checking out the video!

Thank you for this information. I recently realized my 8 year old has a high arch. Her instep seems is flat at the top of her foot. Do you have any suggestion shoes that would give her support. She has been complaining of achy feet on her heel and ball. I think it’s because her shoes are to flat. She loves VANS. Any suggestions would be great. Is it okay for me to look for insole supports for her shoes?

My son has a leg length disparity and I currently have the shoe maker build a lift into the outer part of his shoes. Would the shoes you are recommending allow for this modification.

Very informative video!!! Thank you I'm wondering if baby shoes/toddler shoes ever need an arch to mold the child's foot? I have flat feet and I would want to start my daughter on the best possible path to perfect feet.

Glad to hear you found the video helpful! Everyone's foot is different, but we've found that starting off with natural, flat, wide, and flexible shoes is a great way to ensure foot health. As a side note, a flat arch doesn't always mean a weak arch! Check out this article to learn more: www.correcttoes.com/foot-help/arch-height-vs-arch-function/

This is so helpful! In my country all they recommend is the ugly looking shoes with heel support and I hate it. It's like orthopedics shoes for kids for no reason.

Thanks for making a video for kids feet. I had both of my kids in soft leather shoes when they were young. My 4 1/2yo refuses to wear athletic shoes that have the "spring" that you mention. I have trouble finding the right shoes for him especially since the ball of his foot is wide. He's wearing Crocs for now which seems to closely resemble a natural foot shape. Can you recommend some children's shoe brands that also come in wide sizes?

Our son is 9 and has always worn barefoot shoes because of this. We also wear barefoot although I've damaged my foot with heels and I'll shaped shoes in the past and have metatarsalgia. I'm hoping a barefoot shoe along with pads will help reverse this. As well as the toe stretches is there anything else so can do?

And guess where he most likely got his information? From a shoe fitter like me who has fitted thousands of babies close to forty years. I'll come out with a more detailed video in the future. A lot of important points are missing. Oh by the way, I fit Drs children all the time.

Problem is most people have hard floors in their home not carpet. This isn't good for children's feet long term. Children also end up wearing poor shoes like flip flops or shoes without socks because because they don't get accustomed to proper shoes and they are easy to put on. Better to just dress them to their shoes and socks each morning and keep them dressed till the evening. Their feet are protected and they are dressed and ready to go if you need to go outside. Most kids these days don't wear proper shoes because they don't wear them consistently.
@CptAngelKGaming
@CptAngelKGaming Жыл бұрын
Your stupid theories of how the feet cannot handle "hard surfaces" are the same that have been ruining people's feet all over the world. What do you imagine will happen to the foot because of hard surfaces? Will it break in half or something? NO. It gets STRONGER. Can't believe you actually suggested putting kids in horrendous shoes instead of letting them feel the ground like millions of years of evolution have designed. "Protection" Protection FROM WHAT?! Most natural surfaces are super hard with stones on them. Southern countries that wear flip flops and sandals or go barefoot have the healthiest and strongest feet in the world, while western "developed" countries can't even walk properly. And that's a fact. You're dangerous.
@billybassman21
@billybassman21 Жыл бұрын
@@CptAngelKGaming LOL you're dangerous telling parents to let their children go barefoot all the time. While you downplay injuries, they can be severe. Children can also get worms, warts and fungus from going barefoot. When they do put on shoes they are transferring this into the shoes. Bottom line just more hygienic to wear breathable shoes and socks with clean feet. Sandals do not offer the proper support and protections and cause chafing on the skin. Ever notice that people that wear sandals a lot have crusty feet? Also when children are barefoot they have to constantly watch where they step. It slows them down where as when they are wearing shoes they can play more freely and be more confident with each step. Their feet have to last them their whole life. No reason to tear them up and make their feet all crusty before they are adults. We live in a civilized society, shoes are part of that. How do you expect them to work, go to school and roam public places without shoes? You don't and if you keep them barefoot they will always hate wearing shoes and will be like you making every excuse why people shouldn't wear them. Billions of kids have grown up wear shoes. Some kids wear them at daycare from when they are walking even during naps. Where I grew up around 30% of kids wore shoes and socks from the time they woke up till they went to bed. That is shoes all day at school, playing outside after school and still not removing them right away when they came in. They just never went barefoot. Other than maybe some sweaty socks their feet were fine. The study from the 70s that you pro barefooters often quote found that 3% of barefoot children had deformities vs 6% of shoe wearing kids. 91% of kids feet were fine regardless if they wore shoes are not. People damage their feet wearing shoes that are too tight. Women damage their feet wearing high heals and flip flops.I'll listen to podiatrist who largely say you should wear proper shoes. Barefeet in moderation in a safe environment is fine. Just saying you have to get kids accustomed to shoes and socks and you do that making them the norm.
