Cheers mate! We sometimes worry if we're too dry, but the goal for HPA is to educate rather than hone standup comedy skills so your comment means a lot mate. Appreciate it =) - Taz.

I really like these videos. The open source atmosphere and attention to detail caught my interest 5 minutes into the first video I ever watched from hpa. You guys are really on to something with this concept and I thank you for sharing so much with all of us.

It is not uncommon to do this, so good to see it being mentioned and introduced to more people. Some may remember the BB Chev' engine configurations that used 4 long and 4 short trumpets - this was actually for the opposite reason - the heads had different length runners and the trumpets were used to equalise them. Back then magnetos and mechanical fuel injection were used, though, so it was impossible to optimes for different cylinders. In the example shown, I was a bit puzzled by the arrangement of the lengths, as it 'doesn't' seem to follow what I would have expected for a cross or flat plane crank, I mean, I would have expected a long-short-long-short firing order to smooth the torque impulses? Maybe a packaging issue? Maybe I'm missing something? It has sometimes been used on the exhaust side, for example some racing motorcycles back in the day paired 1&2 and 3&4 primaries for different scavenging characteristics and hence cylinder filling.

Hi Andre, what would be the result of running throttles off AFM using a sealed airbox with tuned ram intake?

so now that you have entered into the world of aircooled vws how about a vacumn controlled adjustable length velocity stacks? (I'm a fan of wide and super short! )

Not sure about "vacuum" operated, and remember that isn't rpm sensitive, but there are several on-line applications where a simple 2D map processor has been used for a stepper-motor controlled arrangement. Had a quick look for the examples I had in mind and came across this, which may be more useful - www.f1technical.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1740

On the Synergy v8, why didn't they run long trumpets on one bank and short trumpets on the other? That way your afr sensors would true for each side instead of an average.

Opinions, if you've got a good engine forge it or blow it first? lol, when running above 'safe' power levels

Is there anything on the engine you want to reuse? If not, sell it. If yes, obvious answer... 😎 If you already know the limits of a well developed engine why waste time and effort going over the same ground again? - Taz.

It’s common in stock bikes like the cbr1000rr and the zx10r to have 2 inlet trumpet lengths cool idea
