good to know...I wasn't sure if I needed to bury conduit along with the sprinkler inside of it. Now I know I don't need the conduit.

Benefit to a conduit is if you ever need to replace the wire you can connect wires and pull. Yet you have to make sure water can’t enter the conduit. You need the conduit to stay dry inside.

I think they would have internal short circuit protection inside controller, how come they damage circuits 😅

Technically, the spark is not what does the damage. It's more of a symptom.

The gopher chewed up the common wire,so I connected the two ends with a waterproof connector. Can I bury the connector into the dirt?

For use in dry, damp, wet locations below or above grade when used in an enclosure. For use in direct bury applications when operating at 30 volts or less. We do advice to ensure the same instruction apply for the brand you purchased.
