Been watching your videos and it leaves me with the desire to do the work myself and get my hands dirty instead of always relying on the hubby when he works on his Jeep. Makes me want a Jeep of my own, just no way I can afford one.

I love the chief blue. My 2012 JKU is a winter chill pearl. I always get compliments on it, I think everyone loves the color as it is a rare color that was only used on special edition (arctic edition) JK's in 2012. People remember my jeep before they remember me. I also love the fact that you started with a Sahara model and not a Rubicon, and built it up yourself. I am planning to do the same with mine. Already got a 3.25" lift with 35" tires. I've taken him, (his name is Big Baby Blue) out wheeling once this year and am going out again as soon as the offroad parks open back up. Of course, I'm already thinking of going bigger, but need to take care of some other details first. Keep on jeepin'!

I definitely agree less weight is better prefer aluminum if I had an option. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to get a genright bumper & tire carrier. Skid plates the only place I would not like aluminum. Got all the major work done now it's just the cosmetic stuff left.

I think 1-2 did line up pretty well, but the vast majority did not. I didn’t want to put any more holes in the side of my rig, so I asked Leo and the guys at TNT Monster Truck to fill the GenRight Offroad mounting holes and add holes to the armor that would line up with the existing nursert locations 😂 - I positive they hated that request, but it’s better than further weakening the structure that sits beneath the armor!!

Yeah, I’m going to get an exact weight next time we are at a CAT scale of just the Jeep. That number is a really rough estimate based on the weight we pulled last time we weighed the trailer/truck and Jeep together. At that time the Jeep was roughly 6800lbs but that was pretty much empty (no tools/gear/spare parts, etc...)

@MischiefMakerTV
@MischiefMakerTV 2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure any of that really matters unless it matters to the vehicle owner personally. I care how the Jeep performs and I know enough to know that no one company makes ‘the perfect’ anything (be it tires, suspension, armor, etc…). Some people get personal enjoyment from building their own suspension and that is something I hope to learn how to do in the future, but I’ve always cared about performance, consistency and longevity and I’ve built my Jeep accordingly. Personally, I don’t sit around thinking ‘I wish had built this or that’ cause I probably would have spent the last 3 years fabbing up and redesigning parts instead of being able to spend the amount of time in the driver’s seat (which was my priority). I do expect that priority to change over time and it is starting to do just that. I’ve had a great time learning to make brackets with Ian, but IMO the vast majority of people who buy a new Jeep like I did in 2017 should probably leave the math and fabrication to experts.
